Mass report exploit that needs to be patched before official hardcore release

Currently if 20+ people all report a player at the same time they will be booted offline and muted for 24 hrs roughly, even if its all false reports. Of course this is a bannable offense to false report but it will not stop alot of trolls. If your guild is pulling a boss and 20 trolls sitting in discord all coordinate a report attack on your main tank he will disconnect (and maybe even be locked out of his account) which will 100% result in tanks death and probably the entire raids death. As you saw today the BB hardcore guild did cthun and almost all of AQ 40. If they did this on official servers they could have been griefed by report bombs and every hardcore character would have been lost. This needs to be addressed before it becomes a problem.
This will allow trolls to make/buy new accounts and report bomb (using blizzards horrible report system) to completely destroy 1000s of hours of people’s HC characters while risking nothing themselves besides having to give blizzard 15$ so they can make new accounts to keep griefing (which blizzard wants)
On official hardcore blizzard will need to remove this functionality from the report function OR add in some sort of Disconnect immunity/boss reset if it happens. It should not be possible for a handful of people to completely destroy characters on hardcore REMOTELY by using blizzard’s lazy broken customer support system.

“This completely made up scenario that never happened needs to be fixed.” You sound like a loon just FYI.

Just because you don’t want to die doesn’t mean the game needs to be changed to help you so that you don’t die.

This is the kind of crap that happens when a company puts profit over customer satisfaction.
What’ll it be this year Bobby, a new jet or a yacht?

I don’t care about that, I’d just like real customer service and game management.

The Automatic Ban robot was disabled btw, they give you a behavior warning instead of automatically booting you.

It’s entirely possible and can and will happen. Don’t be delusional

Re-read the post and re-think what you just said

Proof? Behavior warnings are just warnings. With enough reports you will be automatically suspended for x amount of time.

Fully aware this is an old post.

Actually its abused in RBG’s when you want to remove a healer from the other team, the threshold use to be 10 reports, it may have been increased to 20 to prevent abuse in RBG, but I assure you it was 100% abused and its not something he made up.

Why hasn’t it happened yet on Hardcore servers?

Nope, this is incorrect.

:dracthyr_tea:

This has been a known issue since 2019. It has not changed. At this point it should be regarded as deliberate rather than accidental
It is regularly abused. Im glad this news has finally reached whatever rock youve been living under.

Except you linked a video from CLASSIC ERA (not hardcore) where a streamer specifically coordinates his following to mass report someone resulting in an automated chat restriction, NOT a ban.

This is completely irrelevant to the conversation and no one has disputed anything shown in the video.

Report system is the same across all clients. :dracthyr_tea:

Ok? This still doesn’t change what I’ve said and the points I’ve made. Did you even read the post you replied to?

  1. This isn’t happening on Hardcore servers.
  2. You do not get automatically suspended. You get a chat restriction. These are two very different things.

Please actually read posts before replying to them.

Except it does. Just because it hasnt happened to YOU on HC yet does not mean it hasnt happened to ANYONE.

Its a known function with WoW’s report system across all clients. You can round up a group of people and mass report a single person for complete gibberish and they will get autobanned if the number of reports is high enough. This is not a discussion. It isnt up for dispute.

In fact, this was often the favorite tactic of the Bracket Mafia to deal with Bracket Breakers. And it has been since 2019.

Youre wrong.

Show me a single clip of it happening to anyone. I will wait.

And yet, the only videos that ever come out are from streamers with large enough followings to coordinate such a thing. And you expect us to believe this is a common problem average players will deal with?

I’m guessing you’ll have no proof of this either?

You can say that until you’re blue in the face, but at some point you’ll have to prove it if you want this to get any traction.

Are you really just gonna bury your head in the dirt and scream NUH UH over and over? This is common knowledge, my guy. Its right up there with how rampant gold buying is in the “worst kept secrets” column.

Trying to gaslight people doesnt work in 2023.

I just showed you how it works with a video showing it in real time. I just told you how long its worked that way.

At this point your denial is delusion or its deliberate refusal to admit to it for a malicious reason. Either way, Goodbye.

I’m asking you for proof. You cannot provide that to me. The only logical conclusion I can make is that proof does not exist because you are wrong.

Yes, so common that there is no proof of it.

Except we have proof of that.

No one is disputing how it works. Again, you’re not reading correctly. What I am disputing is you saying this is a common problem and that it’ll be a common problem for HC realms. So far, the only proof you’ve shown me is ONE streamer getting his own viewers to report HIM for a clickbait video. This is not easily replicated by others and there has yet to be a single reported incident of this on Hardcore, despite hardcore experiencing the highest level of population it will ever see this week. I know clickbait videos can be fun to watch but you should think more about what you are actually watching and what it actually means.

What can I admit to someone that shows me no proof to dispute my claims? There’s a reason this reporting system has stayed in the game. It’s because it’s non-issue. Blizzard disagrees with you, rightly so.

You’re so unbelievably wrong. I have proof, it has happened to me. I can test it live in-game. I have screenshots of GM confirmation that you can be automatically suspended from being mass reported.

Let’s see it then.
