Can people please stop inappropriately flagging threads just because they don’t agree with the OP.
If it is against CoC then sure, go ahead and appropriately flag the content.
But we’re seeing many threads instantly flagged for nothing more than a difference of opinion.
Now I may not agree with their opinions, much like you don’t, but that doesn’t make it right to report it, they have as much right to express their views as we do as long as it is not offensive or insensitive.
This isn’t a productive way to share information and ideas, and costs moderators a lot of time checking into things they shouldn’t have to.
If anything, mass flagging is actually bringing those threads more directly to the attention of Blizzard as they are forced to check them.
So please, if you dislike what you read respond as to why you believe your opinion is valid, and if it frustrates you too much, just step away, take a look at a different thread.
If you feel strongly enough promote other threads about how dislikes should be returned so that you can express you view in that manner, but our current approach is not the correct one.
TL:DR
Don’t flag posts just because you dislike them, only flag for appropriate reasons ie breach of CoC.

Some people are trolls and will troll flag a thread just to make things that is full of grief for you.
Trolls thrive on the grief of others.

Keep in mind that a lot of people flag many posts not because they disagree with them, but because they are:
- Advertising a streamer or youtube channel, and are therefore Spam.
- The 10,000th topic on the exact same thing, and also therefore Spam.
- Deliberately trying to antagonize other players, and therefore Trolling.
MANY threads fall into one of these 3 categories, unfortunately.

TL:DR - No flagging for dislike, only flag for actual breach of CoC.

That is fine, and I realise that is the case in a lot of situations. But there are also a lot that are simply a difference of opinion or dislike of the poster for example.

They had that for many years. But then they eliminated it because people receiving downvotes made them feel bad, or something.

I think I know what you mean, as in it’s easier to leave a dislike than a flag. Or at least as the person doing it, flagging has the implication of consequence and so you would be less likely to do so unless you felt strongly enough in opposition of it.

sorta on topic. You can even flag and bury your own posts using alts… if you’re into self loathing.
These forums are broken trash.
I guess it’s worse if you’ve gained a certain kind of reputation on the forums. People see your name once and if you’re posting on a topic that you’ve posted on before, they insta-report you for spam, even if the topic is weeks old. Some people take these forums way too seriously.

Where someone would just dislike an entire topic and systematically go through the thread downvoting? It was wild.
Imagine that with notifications. Imagine just everyone having a list of the habitual haters.

That sounds counter productive. Not sure why anyone would do that outside of experimentation.

It was. Titled the thread. Can i bury my own post. It got buried by me and blizzard deleted it. Lol
I’m crazy enough to get it, but far too lazy to do it. I think I’d mostly just end up on rude people’s notifications like
here you go a downvote- as a treat.
