I think Bioware said they didn’t want a non-human protagonist.
Playing on alliance side has made me numb to narrative let downs.
You mean you say you play it for the plot?
I think Game Workshop needs to buy the ME team (not Andromeda), and make an Inquisition game.
Well, yeah, and as a result, we have had no new entries in arguably the single most influential RTS series in over 15 years. World of Warcraft killed the RTS, and I don’t think the people who want a Mass Effect MMO want the single player game to die in the same way.
Knights of the Old Republic had the same issue. Some of the best single player Star Wars games ever, then they make an MMO for it, and now… no new single player games for fifteen years.
true as can be.
BUT. ESO exists and theyre making a new TES. (eso got around this by making it a prequel)
side note, I kinda think Starcraft is better known than warcraft, despite warcraft itself being a bigger series due to wow
i play it because i love headshots with the m98 widow
literally my favorite video game weapon ever
and i like being a jerk to people in conversations…renegade is funny
All the classes are a lot of fun. Infy probably have the most potential for build diversity though, and sniper infy are so satisfying to play sometimes. Especially once phasic ammo was added to ME3MP and you could gib lieutenants with a cloaked headshot through shieldgate… so satisfying.
Honestly, Mass Effect 3 MP’s combat is superior to basically any squad-based combat in any game I’ve ever played ever since. Andromeda was okay but was not even close to being on that same level.
Mass Effect was Biowares continuation of the KOTOR games, but with a different world since they turned KOTOR into an MMO and they needed to continue the space rpg adventures. I cannot imagine they will ever make a mass effect mmo simply for the fact it it “already exists” - the old republic.
MMORPG’s are VERY expensive to make. With a super high risk of little return.
Bioware is at the verge of dying after failing to make a few games good.
Dragon age 4 is their last chance.
That’s a common thing I hear from people but honestly it’s pretty obvious the story was set up for the reaper arc in it’s entirety. Not even 20 min into ME1 it’s front back and center of the story in every way, and every action taken on ME1 is in direct relation to an incoming existential threat. But mass effect 4 is in works and who knows maybe it’ll be exactly that, post reapers.
Also Andromeda had the best gameplay, but downgraded in every other possible way.
I don’t want another mmorpg made by Bioware/EA sorry.
If they made a MMO of Mass Effect, I would play it. Well, until their version of Shadowlands comes out. Looking at you Andromeda.
Comes with the territory of an MMO unfortunately, unless said MMO is willing to bend gameplay to fit story. So far none that I’ve seen have done that, instead doing the reverse (bending story to benefit gameplay) which in turn disfigures the story into a the world’s worst monster-of-the-week show that’s a royal pain to consider canon.
Dragon Age has allllllll the set up for a MMO has Factions, Maps, Classes, Lore Art style. but … finding a company that would do right by it and drop 200 million into making it good enough to launch and keep going. …
through the eyeslot? oh yeah
its why most of my characters are infiltrators
Doming a Guardian through the mail slot is so, so satisfying. Honestly, the enemy design of Cerberus was just the absolute best. The Reapers were pretty solid and the Geth were a bit meh, but man, the Cerberus enemy design is just fantastic. The enemy tactics and comms chatter made them feel so dynamic, and then that satisfying crunch when you blew up a Cerberus goon’s head is just phenomenal.
Nobody can tell me that Andromeda beats ME3 when it comes to gameplay. It may “feel” better but like the actual meat of the combat of ME3 is just superior in my opinion.
