Mass-create Ink, Please?

My fellow scribes, I know you feel my pain.

The mass milling was a godsend.

We need mass-ink creation.

As I type this, my scribe character is creating vast quantities of ultramarine ink. Maybe enough to fill a pond. (If he were a goblin character, he might even dump the pigment INTO a pond to speed things up slightly.) My goblin rogue has suggested as much.

Alas, my scribe alt is a patient and enlightened pandaren. He sees the mind-numbing boringness of creating vial and vial of ink as a meditative and therapeutic activity.

I do not share in his opinion of this task.

You can get the glove enchants that make you craft faster. I use them on my scribe and it helps a lot.

You can get the enchant, but it is still awful. As the guy who makes vantus runes for my guild, it takes me an hour or more every time we need to make a new batch of ultramarine ink, or viridiscent ink. Even if you just made 5 of them per cast, it would be so much more efficient. Right now it is way too slow for no particular reason.

You just get it going and go do something else.

You don’t need to stand and watch it. And yes it would be faster, however, if they do anything more to professions to speed things up I would like a fishing enchant first to speed up cast time.

It’s still an hour of in game time just sitting there doing nothing. The game logs you out after a while so you have to go back and double check it to make sure you are still making the inks.

Obviously I am not sitting there staring at the cast bar waiting for it to end, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be a quicker process.

Maybe you shouldn’t try to do that much in one day. Try 20 minutes each day instead.

Maybe it shouldn’t take so long to make the inks.

Maybe it shouldn’t take as long to do a lot of things in this game.

I really don’t care if they do this or not but I don’t find it really annoying to do myself - unlike fishing.

Remember the old days when creating ink was super fast, it was a bug but it was cool. Besides you could always set the number of inks to make so you didn’t overdo it, and these days why wouldn’t you create inks in bulk since stuff uses a crazy amount of it to create a single item.

Back at the start of the expansion I was mass making the darkmoon decks and had this same complaint. Even with the glove enchant you just mill way too many pigments and all recipes require way too many materials.

My question is what in heck do we DO with all that ultramarine ink? Because you wind up making it in the hundreds with blessed little to use it on.

Again, my goblin rogue suggested dumping it into a lake…
