Marksman hunters use pets in the lore

I don’t much care about the main point of this thread but I do want to point something out.

Before WoW the bow was more or less the signature weapon of a Priestess of the Moon. Tyrande is not a hybrid, she’s lore accurate to her vocation.

Well, thankfully, in 11.1 the Lore is changing and the marksman Hunter will now be using an eagle and pumping out a whole lot more DPS. i’ve tried the changes on the PTR in both heroic and the target dummies and I have to say I’m impressed with the changes.

You’re a crappy person

I never knew this was a real thing until working in a cafeteria in college.

Tyrande is using her owl as a spotter, quite literally. That’s the ability from Warcraft III she used to gain more vision of the area surrounding her.

Sylvanas has always been a “lone ranger”-archetype, and Nathanos has only ever used two pets and that’s back when he wasn’t even a ranger. But just a random NPC in a house in the Plaguelands.

Other iconic Marksman characters include Alleria and Vereesa Windrunner. Both of which are excellent snipers with additional flare in that regard … and no pets.

No, hunters or rangers who are categorized as Marksman hunters/rangers don’t use pets in-universe. At least not to any other extent than to be that of a spotter or messenger owl.

Petless Marksmanship is quite literally older than for how long specializations have been around in the game. And, as I already pointed out, in-universe lore-wise … no, marksman-archetype characters haven’t used pets in any real capacity.

I feel for the players that enjoyed MM spec with their pet. It does suck for them that it won’t be an option any longer. I hope that the spec will do well with the changes and many people will enjoy it. But until then you guys have my sympathy. It sucks when something changes in a way different than your used too. Learning to use another spec may be the solution and even though it’s not the same class play you have now, it will include your trusty companion.

Sooo… like actual green egg shells or the eggs were that bad they were green? yucky!

This is why I hate cafeteria food. My husband adores MCL and I cannot stand it.

Hemet is also classified as an MM hunter I think, but he has a list of pets.

I don’t like him, but he is a pretty convincing mascot so to speak.

If it makes you feel better about being forced to play without a pet as a MM hunter then that’s fine with me.

And warlock npcs could still do demon form while we can’t anymore.

Some of them do.

All the lore heroes are actually every spec with every talent, and some multiclass.

It’s alone like 99% of the time. The eagle shows up when you cast certain spells and then it leaves. That’s fine by me.

It won’t bother me. I just thought it was silly they chose this odd middle ground lol.

So how many posts have told you “jUsT pLaY bM!”?

I don’t want to look, because I don’t want to headdesk any more over that nonsensical type of reply.

I don’t main a hunter but I think marks it should be an option if you want a pet or not.

Some folks like to collect pets and have them out.

Predicating your complaint because of lore reasons isn’t going to be very strong, as Blizzard’s lore is largely inconsistent and retconned all the time.

Best thing to do is get like a soft dino or a dog and put it on your desk so you always have a pet

But Sendyrn, have you tried to… jUsT pLaY bM? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

(sorry couldn’t help it)
