Marksman Hunters NEED to be nerfed in BGs prior to 70

Battlegrounds are RAMPANT with 1-shotting hunters that offer NO counterplay.

Why has this NEVER been addressed for the newcomers looking to level through battlegrounds?

Hunters have always been good in casual battlegrounds.

You’ve got ease of play, extreme range, not reliant on casting and a frontloaded damage profile which lends itself to this sort of content type so even when Marksmanship isn’t “good” it’s still a fine or good time in bgs.

No denying that; however, being able to 1-shot all classes without a counterplay is unacceptable. I just wish they’d put in some type of nerf that reduces their damage by “x” amount with that same nerf falling off once they reach 70.

I agree, nerf classic marksman hunters.

Because something happened then; and happens now, doesn’t give it reason to exist in the same way forever.

Remove turning off XP from the game.

Twinking should still exist. I don’t find that to be a solution to being one-shot. If people grind hours and hours for specific gear to become a twink (which is a lot harder in Retail than Classic) then they should have their fun. My issue is any MM hunter, twink or not, will and can 1-shot you.

I stay out of leveling pvp BGs at all costs. Because of the craptastic scaling, balance, twinks, and people group syncing to lower their levels after leveling past tiers, it is not fun in leveling BGs.

It’s a total clown show.

I completely forgot about party sync with regards to BGs… That is a absolute s*** show when you see synced 70s DESTROYING everyone in the 10-19 bracket.

You’re not wrong they are overtuned.

But mate… they can barely, if at all, balanced end game PvP lmao what makes you think they could do it low level, if they even cared to begin with.

Don’t hold your breath.

Marksmanship is really good when the opponent is bad, this makes low level BGs a great spot for MM.

My only hope is that one day they decide to do a sweep and look over the entirety of the leveling experience. Maybe then we’ll see the pre-max level PvP nerfs come into play.

My main is a MM, this is very true end game. MM hunters at max level own precisely two things: clothie casters and noobs.

Low level tho, they are actual monsters. And have always been for the record

Incorrect. This implies that EVERYONE (minus yourself it seems) is “bad.” They end up at the top of the leaderboard with 10 KB for every death they incur.

I agree that would be nice.

All I’m saying is it’s not likely. They barely even care about end game PvP, PvE is where they put their developer resources.

You can just as easily get killed by a resto shaman if you’re not using LOS and defensives to your advantage.

Stuns, fears, los, defensives, immunities, hex, poly, gap closers, bg potions, roots, max range weaving, etc.

I mean sure any class can in theory kill any other class.

But you are on some weapons-grade copium if you think MM hunter isn’t overtuned low lvl.

And this is coming from someone who’s mained MM hunter for over a decade, no anti-hunter bias here. It’s just the reality of the situation.

Easy solution. Remove low level bgs altogether. Copy swtor, make everyone max level and give low level players a starting set of skills and abilities that they can tweak outside of the bg.

GW2 has a similar system, I’d love them to copy it. But the last time Blizz attempted a template system it was… not great to say the least.

On a separate note, I also want them to copy Huttball from SWTOR. Best BG map of any MMORPG imo, and it’s been ages since we got a new bg.
