playing marks is wow with training wheels on…you can nuke someone from 100-0 before they can even be in range of you gg folks were back to the silly shadowlands rubbish we had before, it’s just a matter if BLIZZ address it sooner this time. all it needs is for sniper shot to be removed or at least nerfed/reworked and it wouldn’t be so bad but to just lose a good 1/3 to half your HP the second a hunter hits you is abit silly and I play the class…
there are like 5 of these posts already, move along sheep.
You should be able to get 2500 rating easy them. Should try doing it and see how those 1 shots work out for ya.
NUH UH
Good thing you posted on your unranked, undergeared hunter to really reinforce your point.
This is BG forum big
RBGs have ratings too, lizard.
the replies to this post are exactly what’s wrong with class balance and elitism in this game lol.
This post in general is whats wrong with class balance
So how are they doing in 3s?
Thats where all the balance comes from.
every reply had nothing to do with random battlegrounds XD gg bois n girls
Mastery shouldn’t increase range.
It was a fun QOL/Thematic idea but it’s bad for PvP.
Especially with Battlegrounds being more prominently featured moving forward.
Also, damage should be moved into armor-ignoring attacks like Serpent Sting and Bleeds, and out of Rapid Fire, Aimed Shot, and Aimed Shot procs (which demolish light armor classes.)
And maybe their defense needs improvement, because at the end of the day, Glass Cannons shouldn’t exist in PvP. Specs need a more balanced design.
Neither does class balance.
lol I remember one of the patches simply said:
Developer notes: “Hunters are struggling in some PvP encounters”
All damage increased by 20% in PvP.
I figure they are not doing anything creative because they have already planned a class rework for hunter. Drastic changes now might not line up with changes coming later.
Aimed shot and rapid fire on a choice node - problem solved before I finished pooping
never #nerfmmhuntarssszzzzzzz
Your post is just asking for homogenisation. It would be tragic for MM to lose the range bonus just because it’s good in random battlegrounds because that’s one of the more interesting stat interactions in the game.
This is a very good point. As of late Hunter changes have mostly been lazy +/- damage aura tweaks. It’s been a while since they made meaningful changes that improve the class and many of the changes are outright negative only to be bandaided with damage boosts later. In fact that’s largely what’s happened to MM Hunter in PvE with the ridiculous wind arrows mechanic.
Unfortunately I don’t think a Hunter rework is in the works for a while and even if it were I have no faith that they wouldn’t just botch it again like they’ve done most of the times they’ve tried since and including Legion.
This would be completely spec-ruining. The spec depends a lot on Aimed Shot and Rapid Fire being separate abilities; not just from a damage perspective but from a gameplay loop perspective. So, no, you didn’t solve anything.
More reasonable changes include:
- Limiting the damage of Sniper Shot e.g. maximum 20% instead of a full 20% + modifiers.
- Over all damage nerf in exchange for better CC capability (e.g. making Tar Trap not worthless)
- Breaking camouflage with more conditions such as initiating a damaging cast rather than finishing it
They are doing some stuff and some things for hunter in the big patch.
I don’t know how major or minor they are really.

The TL;DR is that they’re positive but not big enough. There’s still a problem with lack of build variety and poorly structured, expensive talent trees across the 3 specs.
In MM’s case they’re largely fixing the issue with the absurd amount of RNG introduced by Windrunner’s Guidance, but that’s an issue they introduced in 10.1 even when everyone warned them about it as they were doing it. So it’s one step backward then one step forward. MM gets the worst tier set in the game in 10.2 though (the 4 set bonus is only +100 DPS; not a typo) so that will again keep it out of relevance in PvE.
It’s just RP flavor. They don’t need it to be functional in any form of content. There’s only a few specs who even have a minor Mastery secondary effect.
All it does is lead to some crazy unintended effects in Battlegrounds.
