Mark Your Calendars: The Journey to the Dragon Isles Begins November 28

Wasnt here for Legion. Good to know. Maybe its a hook to buy? Good news either way but i pre-ordered so im covered.

:+1:

Oh it is. I remember I waited about buying Legion, and only did when Demon Hunters got early release because I was bored. I haven’t bought Dragonflight yet, lets see if Evoker release pushes me the same way Demon Hunter did lol

That’s actually not true. The only time that has been done for retail was with Demon Hunter. Neither Death Knights nor Monks were available in their respective pre-patches.

Now, the fact that they allowed Death Knights to be created during the Wrath Classic Prepatch along with Evoker getting the same treatment, this is hopefully the sign of a new normal.

As I recall, SL was actually delayed two whole extra months to give it more time
 it still bombed badly.

Is it bad the only way i’l remember it is the end of Steam’s Autumn Sale?..

Let me stop you right there. Death knights released 2 weeks before WOTLK launch.

Oh good, I can count down to poorly conceived talent trees

yo can i get beta, pre ordered the game so fs should get beta

Once dragonflight launch it will show the mmo market who is the true king of the mmo space.

Like, I’m not complaining we’re getting it a day early.

But why are you releasing it on a Monday instead of a Tuesday? Tuesday is the “start of a new week” for WoW since vanilla. Seems weird to do it on a Monday. (I think SL did too?)

Are you guys going to disable weekly quests for the first day so people who don’t rush to 70 don’t get innately punished by the weekly reset?

I know m0s are locked until the first week (or was it second?) but weekly quests are often overlooked.

SL was delayed because of Covid. Work on it was severely disrupted especially since the core development months of it landed on the center of covid.

Technically it is midnight Tuesday UTC, since it’s a global release, NA gets it Monday afternoon/evening.

Yea, but the resets are Tuesday NA Wednesday EU. So it’s weird to do it Monday NA, Tuesday EU.

I am genuinely worried we’re going to have to rush through the first day of leveling and hit 70 in as short of time as possible in order to do the weekly quests the day before the reset or immediately fall behind everyone else.

not gonna happen

I would be on the other hand reading quest text and watching all the cutscenes and cinematic and listening to voice acting and music and exploring the new zones while your type would rush then whine and complain there is nothing once you run out of stuff (just like always).

I don’t think it’s going to be that big of a deal. There doesn’t seem to be a lot to really fall behind on.

This is what I like to do.

But I also don’t want to fall behind because I don’t rush to 70 on the first day.

Hence asking if they will be preventing weekly quests for the first day, until the reset.

Renown is a thing in DF.

And unlocking things like taming Lesser Dragonkin is locked behind Renown.

Yeah, but that’s all just cosmetics.

Doesn’t matter. Cosmetics are the majority of the game for me.

Falling Behind because Blizzard decided to release on a Monday would be ridiculous. It’d be like if they unlocked Mythic Raids a week early for EU. Or M+ a week early in EU.

Those NA players would complain too.
