I decided to randomly get my class mount for my warlock because i think it looks pretty cool, im on the quest Mark of the Sentinax, but there is no portals below the sentinax or even any mobs that are spawning to get the shards i need for the quest, i’ve googled it multiple times and nobody seems to have an answer or anything. Am i doing something wrong?
The portals come from drops. You get the drop, trigger it, and then a portal opens. It’s part of a quest chain on the island. Once you get one of the drops (it looks like a crystal of some sort), you get a quest, take it to island base for the turn-in and then you get more of the drops that will let you open the portals.
The initial drop is random as far as I know.

You might need to progress through the island’s main quest line or something. They may not drop before certain criteria are met.

mark of sentinax sucks cause there is lots of horde and they steal your portals you summon
That is annoying. Easiest thing to remedy that would be for them to make the mobs like world bosses, so no matter who hits first everyone can tag it.
I’ve completed the legion class mount quest on a lot of characters and it’s SO MUCH better to find or make a group in group finder.
If you make a group, you can all loot the mobs and it takes 20 minutes to get all your marks.
So step 1. is to kill random monsters until you get a broken sentinax beacon that starts a quest. turning that quest in will allow you to loot normal sentinax beacons.
step 2. is killing monsters underneath the sentinax (you get a buff to let you know when you are under it) will sometimes drop beacons
step 3. use the beacons and follow the green laser a short distance and it will open a portal. Kill all the monsters that come out of the portal to loot your marks and sometimes more beacons.
