Soo I came home and tried to launch wow. The launcher asked me to update my wow client… then instantly i got this error: BLZBNTAGT00000BB8.
so I did that the https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/2667 said…
- I do not have any security programmes running.
- No connection issues. (tested with other games and streams).
- Admin mode does not make any difference.
- Ran it twice the scan and repair twice… after the scan and repair it says it will begin to download the patch to “repair it” but instantly the error comes out.
Anyone can advise a work around this? I REALLY REALLY DO NOT want to reinstall wow…
Edit:
Is there a place to maybe delete the latest patch or something… maybe the initial download was corrupted and i could try having it redownload the patch or something? does anyone know.
Hi Asphyxiate
What antivirus do you have installed? You mentioned it isn’t running. They don’t turn off very well - nature of the beast.
Confession i don’t use anti-virus.
Erm it is stuck at “fetching patching manifest, encoding table, patching manifest” and just cycles among the 3 and then then error comes out.
I too had this error… spoke with a very helpful GM on the online chat but everything we tried did not work… i even deleted my wow and launcher but nothing worked… best part is i cant re-install wow even… saying something like failed to download and have the error BLZBNTAGT000008A4.
Have you tried a restart of the computer Asphyxiate? Right click on the Battlenet desktop icon. Select - Run as administrator.
Hi Celestina
Try the possible solutions on this support page:
Expand the “Advanced Troubleshooting” section as well.
You don’t have Windows Defender running by chance? That program is sneaky and runs in the background which has caused others to get this error.
Hello Tratt… i tried everything and even contacted customer support… but unable to… now i manage to get wow to download… 56gb @ 2kbps and will also get disconnected… so im guessing its a connectivity issue.
Encountering the same issue here. Tried launching wow 15 minutes ago. Tried everything above and none working. Not running any antivirus or windows firewall or anything like that. Everything was fine the past 1 month.
Hmm … this has the looks of an emerging issue with the overnight patch. Usually these are security software - antivirus.

tried. does not work

but the thing is that i do not any anti virus or firewalls or window security…
erm is there a way to download the patch manually and have it installed on our own?
I see the three of you are Oceanic servers. Hard to say if that is a coincidence or not.
oh… i know there has been an routing issues with one of the servers… if my patching servers goes through it… well dang…
is there anyway i can download the patch manually and have the patch patch it after?
Let’s have a look at a WinMTR Asphyxiate.
The instructions are on this Blizzard Support page:
Once you have the tool open enter the IP number for the server group you play on in the WinMTR box then hit start.
103.4.115.248
(include periods)
Leave it run for 5 minutes or so. Doesn’t matter if you are playing or not. Then use the button that copies Text to your clipboard. Paste that on your thread here

Hello! I seem to be having the same issue since I tried to launch wow about 9 hours ago. I have tried everything on the blizzard support website, contacted live chat support twice (the support staff stopped responding to me entirely for 40mins on my 2nd chat!).
Besides everything the live chat support staff and blizzard’s support website told me to do, I also did TWO fresh reinstalls of Windows 10. I still get this error 9 hours later. Please help!
Asphyxiate - looks like you may be playing from China is that the case? Are any of you other folks playing from there?
