I have been gone for about half a year and just got a new desktop. When I logged in I noticed the entirety of my map showed as “unexplored” I tried the repair option and that didn’t work I also uninstalled and re installed also still showing unexplored.
Please help
I’m having the same issue. Maps everywhere I go (that I know I’ve been to before) show to be unexplored. Just came back after taking a break for 8 months or so.

Me too. All of my maps show unexplored.
I took a six month break and today I came back to find myself in the same situation.
Despite having achieved multiple explorer achievements on my alliance main, all their maps are showing up as “unexplored”. Surprised me when I logged in and immediately “discovered” Stormwind. None of my other characters seem to be affected.
All my flightpaths are still there and it is letting me re-discover places, but it’ll be a bit inconvenient to fill in each map all over again. Hopefully, this bug gets addressed soon.
you have the heirlooms which unlock the maps.
search your toybox for “scouting map”
I found the scouting maps under the toybox tab, but have yet to purchase any. Either way it’s helpful to know about. Thank you!

Same bug here. I have some of the scouting maps but not others, so I hope they fix this - lest I spend an extra 70k on toys I don’t really care to get right now lol. I also took a ~5 month break.
Same here. Doesn’t seem to be under the “known issues” currently so kind of concerned that it won’t get resolved if the devs don’t know about it.
Hey just curious, can you try using the toy “The Warband Map to Everywhere All At Once”. I believe everyone should have this. I had the same issue with everything being unexplored and using this toy showed me all of the Dragon Isles as discovered.
I read your post and found “The Warband Map to Everywhere All At Once” in my toybox tab and used it. Please note I did this on my main, who’s maps were wiped and I haven’t actively gone around to re-discover any locations yet.
Good News:
The toy did indeed fill in /most/ of my missing map locations. A BIG thank you for saving me the literal hours it would have taken to fly around and fill it all in.
Bad News:
That being said, there were about 7 locations across all the maps that didn’t fill in after using the toy.
I’m going to assume this is because, when using the toy: Only the “warband members” who’s maps did not get wiped clean contribute to filling the maps. The 7 locations still missing were not filled in because only a few alts (including my main who has the achievements showing they completed quests in those areas), had been to them previously, but because their maps were wiped clean, those characters didn’t contribute anything when using the toy.
So, it still stinks that I’ll have to (eventually) go out and re-discover some spots, but 7 locations is a lot more manageable then re-discovering EVERY location.

Here to report, I have also experienced this bug after a hiatus. I do not have the toy “The Warband Map to Everywhere All At Once” and have no way to fix this. My main has fully explored all zones up through Battle for Azeroth, so I really need this to get fixed by Blizzard. I’m not doing that all again.
