I personally don’t have an issue with it, it is fun and adds skill to the game. But make no mistake about it, it is 100% exploiting since you are exploiting a bug in the game engine to access/bypass obstacles in the game the developers put in for a reason
I would very much like to see Activision say something about it

I think you mean Blizzard not Activision. WoW is run by Blizzard. Activision is a parent company and they don’t make day to day decisions like that.

More like it’s a permanent partnership, really. But Activision tends to keep out of Blizzard’s hair unless Blizzard isn’t raking in the cash.
Trust me, if Kotick was running Blizzard, there wouldn’t be a BlizzCon.
If you think Blizzard acts independently of Activision you’ve had your head buried in the sand for the last few years.

Blizzard Entertainment and Activision Blizzard are not the same company. Related yes, but not the same entity.
I never said they were the same company.
Activision isn’t involved in making the decision as to whether or not map clipping is allowed.
So you are saying if someone get feared in the Horde WSG Flag room and they clip throught the wall due to the fear, you will call the one who got feared exploit on him? or the one who fear?
What does Activision have to do with this? Blizzard is autonomous.
All this back and forth about Activision vs Blizzard and no one has explained what map clipping is

It is 100% exploiting and always has been considered exploiting. This is literally a 15 year old game and Blizzard took positions on this years and years ago.
People got banned over this. Stop acting like this is theoretical.

So people should be banned if they got fear next to a wall, and soemhow clip through it? Is that what you are saying?

No obviously not but someone like Asmongold showing people how to clip on a stream of 75,000 people is pretty obvious Blizzard picking and choosing where to apply the rules.
You can skip ENTIRE sections of dungeons in Vanilla using this and Blizzard knows it. Why they are being silent is beyond me and it is incredibly stupid and will destabilize server economies.
Things were built into retail to make it pointless but that does not exist in Classic and in many cases it is very game breaking.

Classic have to be Vanilla, the most authentic Vanilla experience with his clips and exploits… It was not fixed in the original game ? It will not be fixed in Classic because what we want is an authentic experience

And they could fix it so you can’t skip those sections but they choose not to, so that to me is implied consent that it is ok to do it. How easy it would be for them to throw up an invisible wall, they sure did that fast in Silvermoon when DHs were jumping and gliding up to formally inaccessible areas to show how unfinished and fragmented the city was.
As long clipping doesn’t affect any PvE or PvP aspect …
like example … clipping throught the wall of ironforge to go into old ironforge, should not be punished(because there is nothing there) , but if people clip through a place where they can attack player but the player being attacked cannot fight back, then that is obviously should be punished.

This needs to be addressed on a per situation basis. Some of them result in actions that are NOT ok, and some of them are more harmless. Off the top of my head
Ones I would personally be OK with:
-DM West skips (a bit of walljumping)
-DM North skips (walljumping again)
-WSG Foolery on top of horde side tunnel
-WSG horde side graveyard jump (good druids use this one all the time while FC’ing and it has become part of the WSG meta, controversial for sure, but it does not take you anywhere that other players cant access without walljumping)
Ones that I would NOT be OK with:
-Skipping suppression room in BWL
-Glitching outside of the map on WSG via alliance base with flag
-Camping above horde entrance into WSG with the flag (requires engi boots)
-Camping on top of Lumber Mill, Blacksmith, Farm, or stables as a ranged to defend the base in Arathi Basin
Some examples so folks can see what OP is talking about, but there are countless other examples of harmless and not so harmless map clipping maneuvers.
Link?
Actually, they literally said that they went with the modern infrastructure because it has 15 years of fixing bugs and exploits and they don’t want them included in the game.
