I could swear I used to have a map addon that was more detailed about the fog of war thing so you could see the small areas you havent yet explored.
The in game map opens up entire areas that include multiple ‘discovered’ spots that I havent hit yet.
anyone know what the addon might have been?

no…not that…Im intentonally not using that because I dont then get XP for discovering the zones.
a long while ago…maybe BFA…I couldnt figure out what part of the map I hadnt discovered yet…all the fog of war was cleared…but there was still something I hadnt discovered because of an acheive that wouldnt pop that I needed.
someone in here showed me an addon that shows even the smallest spots you havent discovered on the map even if the game map has uncovered it.
maybe thats it. Ill check it out…thanks!
Leatrix Plus is also awesome for lots of other options.
I use the Leatrix Plus, ithink its called…mostly for quest pickup and turn in…to speed it up…I should have looked at that or handynotes, but figured it’d just be quicker to ask you all since youve pretty much figured out what addons work best for pretty much everything
Leatrix separated out the map options from Plus into Maps so that it wasn’t overwhelming all in one. It works out pretty well. Keeps them both lightweight and easy to navigate through the options. 
installing it now…Im missing lots of XP flying around the map. Rolled a new earthen monk and just levled from 30 to 43 with the map discovery XP, but I know Im passing by undiscovered spots.
Its kinda relaxing getting a bunch of levels this way, lol

the game map opens up an entire area around Allerian Stronghold In Terokkar Forest…so one might think theyve gotten all the XP from there and move along.
but went ahead and went into the little area that says “Skettis” on the right side of the small lake there and discovered five more spots for 2250 XP each.
If I go by the game fog of war, I might not know that XP is sitting there waiting
