Horde will be so glad to get Silvermoon back that they won’t think twice about being forced to give up their sovereignty over it to share it with the Alliance, who gain more without losing anything. Again.
Get ready for the Alleria and Arator Family Hour! Featuring some Horde hangers-on.
Who will be in just one quest line where said characters could be replaced by any number of random NPCs and it wouldn’t change anything
Looking at you blizz and your LIES about Thrall
First they gave away our elves, next they will give away our city. I’m just really not sure which part I’m supposed to be happy about.
If Lor’themar does surrender blood elf sovereignty over Quel’Thalas to fill out another Convocation of Silvermoon with void and high elves, I really don’t envy his first day back on the Horde Council. It’s going to be super awkward explaining to his peers that the nation he pledged to it has been neutralized by Alliance faction leaders motivated by their hatred of the Horde.
The only reason the council exists is for the Alliance’s convenience, unfortunately.
That implies the Council actually does anything. Or that it isn’t made up of characters who have spent the last three expansions being Alliance sympathetic. Baine? Thrall? Eitrigg? Voss? Even Geya’rah is in that camp now.
Talanji is the one dissenting voice who might actually care, but she’s been locked in the refrigerator since Battle for Dazar’alor ended. Only shot of her being let out is by undergoing another radical personality shift and memory holing that they murdered her father.
If the two options are the destruction of Silvermoon and giving it up to the Alliance/Neutrality, I would choose its destruction.
Milquetoast faction councils are bad enough, but we’ll be entering a whole new era of faction irrelevance if milquetoast neutral councils are their evolution.
It’s especially lamentable for the blood elves because they have nothing going on outside their investment in Quel’Thalas, while their Alliance mirror race - the sole beneficiaries of this potential neutralization of QT - ironically enough does. That’s worrying.
Expect the worst and … they’ll probably still find a way to disappoint you. I’m waiting to see what the Aug 5th reveal has in store. My expectation is still that we’ll see some dead Blood Elves (Rommath or Halduron) that shouldn’t be killed off or Voidvillain-batted Blood Elves (Hathorel and Thalen) that shouldn’t be Voidvillain-batted. That, and some obnoxious new Convocation that seats characters from both factions in another idiotic council hellbent on eroding every minuscule shred of Horde identity that has somehow survived this far.
I’ll just unsub if that’s the gameplan, though. More of the same is not what I’m interested in.
omg the horde are such cry babies
There’s soooo many ways to play WoW these days without a sub. My sub pauses in august. Mostly just came back for Undermine ![]()
The only winning move is not to play.
Oh no. Elf city gets saved by blue eye elf from before it was taken over by green eye elfs…elf forever btfo.
Meanwhile non elfs have to suffer through yet another elf xpac.
Or to hope they finally figure out what their Classic community wants (hint: it is not Retail WoW quality of life and seasonal gimmicks).
Rommath and Halduron are sort of canaries down the mine for me; I’ll know this thing is a dud if mining suggests one or both of them lose their jobs to Umbric and Alleria. “Ranger General Windrunner” Freudian slips are already happening in TWW so I’m priming my facepalm.
I want to see less of Umbric and more of Lyria and Ennas. Their hatred for Silvermoon for what it did to them in TBC is far more compelling than his pining to kiss and make up in it.
What makes you think Horde is getting Silvermoon back for Midnight? The key art for the Midnight reveal at Gamescom appears to show Silvermoon getting blasted apart by forces of the Void, and the art is even suggesting that the top of Sunfury Spire has been torn off from the rest of the tower and is either floating above the city, in the process of falling down, or getting sucked into the Void.
Currently, it’s possibly looking like neither the Horde nor the Alliance are going to have Silvermoon in Midnight.
Umbrics foreshadowing.
Also, you know, common sense.
I do wonder if reclaiming Silvermoon will be one of the goals of the promised Elven Reunification.
Hmm possibly. I mean there are likely only two options, one we have Silvermoon as our main base or both factions setup a satellite town that will act as expansion hub.
