Mandatory quests should not include dungeons.

My situation is unique and not necessarily a broad issue. I suffer from generalized anxiety disorder. It is sometimes hard for me to interact with other people without falling into disordered behaviour.

Probably not the game for you, you might be thinking. And I have no argument; it’s probably not, but I’ve been here for a decade off and on, so there has always been enough for me to do and come back for.

I want a Kul Tiran druid, and I find myself up against this dungeon wall in the questline Pride of Kul Tiras. I may get through it eventually, but I won’t be able to do it at a pace to finish before the race releases, and realistically, I’m most likely to just unsub again until the unlock requirements lessen, or the next expansion. I’d rather keep playing.

I know there is nothing to be done about this now, or likely ever, but I would make a request that when designing the long chain of events required to unlock a race (that ought to have been unlocked with the new expansion imho), please make it so that the requirements can be completed solo.

I hate dungeons so I would prefer nothing involves doing dungeons either tbh but at least this only involves one dungeon unlike what they did in legion.

I suffer from GAD though not to the extent you do. The only comfort I can give you is that these days it’s pretty rare people talk in pugs for these types of things.

Sadly, they’ll never change the requirements to not force you into some group play at some point. If you really want it, you’ll probably just have to bite the bullet (figuratively speaking).

Maybe you can try some relaxation methods, medications if you have any, maybe something herbal or liquid courage if that’s your thing. You could also opt to turn off chat during or have the Calm app handy.

Just LFG the dungeon and turn the chat off. Pretend you’re following around NPC characters. People hardly communicate in randoms anyway, there’s really not too much social interaction these days.

Thanks guys, your kindness is really refreshing. I’m going to work on figuring out ways to make it through.

I know it’s a relatively asinine thing to complain about group play in an MMO, but, well I did, and I appreciate the thoughtful responses. I’ll look into this Calm app, sounds like something I could use.

No worries, it’s not asinine. A lot of people can’;t even get as far as you did to. post publicly and say “I have this, what can I do?”

If you join a random 5-man, it’s unfortunately going to be a crapshoot. Jerks who will yell about not knowing stuff vs. those that won’t care about anything and just want to speed-run it for the azerite.

If you think you can handle meeting new people, you’re welcome to meet my guildies and they can help you out. We used to take one of our guildies through dungeons where she literally covered her eyes because she has a severe phobia to f snakes. Got her through all of those obstacles. They have the patience and understanding of you think you can do it. Let me know and I’ll send you mail on your server with my Btag. If you can’t, I totally understand that too.

What dungeon is needed and at what difficulty?

As Rhielle indicated, there are guilds that can help you do a quick run of a dungeon to complete this requirement in no time. If you need help, we can figure out a way to btag each other and I can hook you up with some very very nice folks. (same offer as Rhielle’s) :smiley:

I think “mandatory” quest should not include dungeons and raids that can’t be done in LFD or LFR.

Anyways, you’re just going to have to deal with it. Blizzard can’t design the game around people with special circumstances. There are too many and they’re all unique (or they claim to be.)

You’re a Hunter so that’s not a big, important role in a group. Just turn off your chat window and grit your teeth.

I am still questioning why the Alliance has to do a dungeon but not the Horde? Is it because Horde players have to do a quest for the Zol’jin quest line?
