I was just about to post this! Haha!
Aaaaaaahhhhhhh! This is SO exciting!
The BLACK eyes though!
That is neat and Iāll admit that it makes me rather curious if past Eredar characters like Jaraxxus will join the Draenei to serve as the Manāari representative, if a new character would be created to function as the Manāari representative, or if the Manāari just wonāt a central leader/representative as the skin is unlocked by players and used in future Draenei NPCs.
Iāll be curious to see how the story of the Manāari rejoining with the Draenei unfolds, certainly. Itās a good change overall. Iām actually kind of surprised these customizations didnāt come with the Warlock class being opened to the Draenei.
Manari skins for Draenei alone makes Dragonflight better than SL, BfA, and WoD. Even though the over arching story doesnāt seem to be lighting things up, there are a lot of lore heavy side shows going on - and they are pretty good so far.
The Orc heritage (the human one seems to be meh in comparison, as far as reception), the Warlock quests/expansion, Night Elf and Forsaken Heritage Quests, and now Manari skins?!?
I think the smaller scale player based stuff is better than cosmic warlords who are one expac and done.
Information about the races and customization options are evergreen content.
If this game is still rolling in 15 years, new players will still be able to use the looks on their toon.
Manāari open up all of the other races for recruiting darker choices.
Sanālayn, fel blood elves, fel orcs, and blood trolls are possible.
I donāt know how forsaken Kāthir can work but Iāll find a way.
Body type 3?
It appears these arenāt āfull manaariā due to the lack of cracked skin, theyāre new/unique skin options but in that line
Similar to how āgreen skinā and āgreen eyesā for Orcs and Belves demonstrate demonic influence but arenāt demons outright
The influence is quite clearly different on the manāari.
Kilājaeden turned red, and Archimonde remained blue.
Iād really hope for a clarification on when a Manāari becomes a demon and all with this patchās content. Like thereās gotta be some degree of a spectrum, itās not like every orc that drank Mannarothās blood became a demon. Iād have to imagine fel influences were the same with the Eredar.
The Eredar that became Manāari were ābathed in fel by Sargerasā or some kind of wording. Basically Sargeras personally imbued fel powers upon the Eredar which gave them powers and turned them to demons, aka, Manāari.
The same thing happens to orcs who drank demon blood, the ones who did turned red, when the power of that blood ran out, when they could no longer refuel themselves, they turned from red to green, or blackish as seen with some of them - they lost their original colours. Orcs who were in proximity to fel usage, did not turn red, but their skin eventually turned green too. But this effect is not the same for every race, Blood Elvesā skin does not change just in proximity to fel, although there is some alleged evidence for this but not totally, their eye glow changes to green though. But if they consume demon blood their skin can take some unnatural colours.
We have a great idea of what it takes for demonic transformation. It requires a greater deal of fel exposure other than just being a warlock or being near one. Demon Hunters end up becoming demons, more or less, simply by drinking demon blood and eating demon flesh, which they do as a part of their training to become demon hunters.
So we know, that a lot of exposure to fel = becoming demons, and we know that being a warlock does not give enough fel exposure to turn people into demons, but drinking fel blood and eating demon flesh is enough.
Turns out we are getting the Fel lime green eyes after all :

Iām absolutely hyped. For years now Iāve said that if Manāari ever became an option that Iād jump on it - and that if Draenei could ever be Warlocks that Iād make one⦠and here I am. lol
More excited for actual eye color options on draenei other than āwhitish blue or blindā. And Iām really surprised that it appears theyāre getting yellow eyes. Gold eyes being the only real distinction between Lightforged and Draenei once the tattoos are hidden beneath armor.
The red skin I could take or leave, I canāt imagine average joe draenei being too enthused about recruiting manāari. Just consider the stygma that the Broken suffed and theyāre largely benign.
This will be a hard sell for Velen and Iād like to see a lot of push back from the draenei and the Lightforged. Some social tension on the exodar would be welcome.
It does have me considering a red skinned assassination rogue tho.
Blizzard PLEASE.
You have the āAccursed Tome of the Sargereiā toy that is AWESOMEāperfect for Manāariā¦
BUT.
Itās a toy with 5 MINUTE timer and a crazy 1 hour cooldown.
The toy is the PERFECT compliment for Manāari.
Change the cooldown. Make it like the orc clan banner toy: 10 minute use; 10 minute cooldown. OR better, no use timer at all!
The black eyes are incredible, Iām glad they added depth and tone to the other options as well! I already race changed my Priest Nithae to be a Manāari Voidcaller, sooo exciting!
One of my earliest pieces of WoW nostalgia was confronting Sironas at the peak of the Bloodmyst Isle story, I distinctly remember thinking āTHAT IS AN EREDAR? I WANNA BE HER!ā so this is such a long-time Azeroth wish that will finally be happening.
Although it wonāt super fit the āideaā of my Shaman, it will be cool to have the red skin tones to match the many fire-themed sets that are specific to Shaman. I feel like they could be passable as an āelemental ascendantā type look especially paired with the yellow eyes!
