Man'ari Customization Not for Lightforged Draenei?

I just finished the “Seeing Red” questline on my Lightforged Paladin and I got the toy, but not the red skin option. Yesterday, I did it on my regular Draenei shaman and got both, so just wondering…

Did I miss something?

It’s only for Draenei, not Lightforged. And it’s an account wide unlock. You don’t need to keep doing it.

Lightforged was only made to increase sales on race changes. It only needed to be added to the Draenei as a new customization option

Devs decided to stick to lore for once, and denied LFD the red skin. But they can still be warlocks, because … ya know. REASONS.

Though your Man’ari priest has no problems with using the Light, the writers probably thought that whatever Force is powering the Lightforged would probably reject them for their past wicked ways.

Or they would just explode from the fel and Light magic not being compatible.

Yeah, I thought it was too, so was surprised when my Pally didn’t have it. So I did it again only to find sadness and despair.

But, I thought that’s why Fel magic is so neon…from the Light…y’know…trapped…inside? That would work, don’t ya think? For rationalizing Eredar Lightforged Paladins? Maybe? OH! And then all our light spells could then be GREEN!! Wouldn’t that be awesome!! Blizz…wouldn’t it be…awesome?

Orcs were cleansed of their Fel corruption but kept their skin color.

Lothraxion was light infused by a Naaru and kept his gray skin. (Sometimes hard to see because of how much that lightbulb now glows LOL)

I don’t see why a Draenei ritual to the Light can’t cleanse the Man’ari of their Fel corruption and keep their skin color.

Red skin and golden eyes. Those golden plates on red skin would look fantastic.

Also: lore went out the window so long ago. We have demon Paladins and Holy Priests, along with Lightforged Warlocks. I feel like red skinned cleansed Lightforged is the least troublesome thing. lol

Fel is Demon Magic so it might not be compatible with the Light just as Void isn’t compatible with the Light.

But then again there is/was that Lightforged Nezthrium who may have been a plant by Sire Denathrius. And also that Naruu that was more then willing to convert Illidan.

If they’re cleansed of the Fel through the Lightforged ceremony but keep their red skin, it’s a moot point.

None of those go against lore, though.

Also the Lightforging process does change their skin tone, so it stands to reason that any Lightforged Man’ari would just look like any other Lightforged.

Last time I checked, the Light doesn’t like demons and won’t respond to them. And Lightforged specifically became Lightforged to fight against demons and Fel.

And a cleansed Man’ari who kept their red skin isn’t against lore either.

For regular Draenei. For one who was infused with Fel and became a Demon, there is no lore that says their skin color can be changed.

Again, even Lothraxion is still gray. Just like he was before. That lightbulb just shines too bright to notice it half the time.

There’s no lore that says a Draenei ritual has to change a demon’s skintone. Because there’s just no lore at all for that.

The Light isn’t a conscious force, it doesn’t decide who uses it. Man’ari paladins and holy priests aren’t using fel abilities alongside the Light, they’re just using the Light.

Many warlocks use their power to fight the Legion, as do pretty much all demon hunters. The LF warlock in the little “all races” questline they got specifically mentions wanting to use the power for good.

The Lightforging process does change Draenei appearance though. We see it happen in their recruitment scenario. And the fact that LFD can’t use the red skins supports the fact that they simply can’t happen :dracthyr_shrug:

Whether it’s because double-infusing like that would just make them explode or because Lightforging overwrites their previous change hasn’t been explained and probably never will be.

Lothraxion is a special case for many different reasons, not least of which being the fact that he’s an antagonistic operative that may not have even actually gone through the Lightforging process.

And don’t forget the golden tattoos! Yes, quite pleasing, to be sure.

I mean… we’ve read throughout quests and books where the Light chooses to respond to someone.

That doesn’t mean it was accepted by the Draenei or the Lightforged. Like… ever at all. Until now.

But again… it changes a Draenei who is already attuned to the Light to be even shinier. Where is there lore that says this Draenei ritual would do that to a demon?

Nah. It just means Blizz was lazy. Because more work goes into the coloration with their different horns and the plates, etc.

He was infused with the Light by a Naaru and his skin didn’t change. That’s a heck of a lot more powerful than a Draenei ritual.

When I look at the incoming class combos and the current class combos and the fact that there are now demons who are Paladins… there’s honestly zero reason in my mind to not let Lightforged just have red skin without the Fel eyes.

It’s absolutely justifiable within the lore. If a demon Paladin is justifiable, so is a red skinned, golden eyed Draenei.

Oh wait… we have those already. Just not with different horns.

And…excellent discussion, so far! I didn’t expect my post to generate a discussion of this quality, so thank you!

(and no one has called anyone an idiot yet!! Well done!)

Bris always has good lore conversation. I enjoy when we get to banter about it. :dracthyr_heart:

(tagging Bris with a quote just so Bris sees!)

After watching the video where Illidan politely tells the Naaru no (by going full eye beam destruction on it) I feel extremely weird about ever trusting any Naaru ever again.

The kind of weird that if and when we defeat the Void Lords… we should turn our attention to the Naaru to prevent them from ever attempting forced conversion again.

Let’s also not forget that AU LFD are… well. you know.

Both have gone through a lot of cultural upheaval over the last few years. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re at least hesitantly willing to be open-minded, with Velen’s approval. They’ve seen firsthand how warlocks and demon hunters fighting by their side can help.

It changes blue and purple skinned Draenei to be bronze and golden.

Where’s the lore that says it wouldn’t?

Is that written somewhere? He’s a Dreadlord - I would expect subterfuge by default.
