IO have tried the quest on 2 characters and during the phase change all i do is fall to me death. I have mounted up and my character wil not move. The game is no fun when all I do is pay and pay and pay a repair bill. I am understanding why so many have quit playing

IDK how it is in story mode, but on other difficulties you need to be skyriding and your skyriding hotbar will replace all buttons with one to start flying before you can move.
I also can’t do anything at the same point, except for me the game won’t even let me mount. I am in skyriding mode. The game just leaves my regular hotbars up but I can’t use any of the skills on them, not even the mount skill because I am falling.
The game pops up the message “mount up” then instantly drops me to my death.

If it’s any help, I was having the same issue. Initially it wouldn’t let me do anything quickly enough and I kept falling and dying.
I resolved this by placing my mount in a space on my hotbars with a bound key, and I literally spammed that key once the phase started until it put me on my mount so I could start drifting down toward the rings. It was annoying, but it did seem to snap me out of that weird frozen phase I kept getting trapped in.

For me the issue was keybindings, all of mine are unbound due to using an addon. When mounted it wants to use the default bliz bars. If you don’t get through the first ring within 10 seconds the flying buff drops & so do you.
I’m fed up with this bug. I mount up and all my Dragonflight controls are frozen and all have the same icon. I’m going to wait until this bug has been fixed as I have tried about 6 times.
Being frozen and every skyriding icon being replaced is an intentional fight mechanic. They are all replaced with a special version of Take Off that will cancel Harbinger’s Embrace. Harbinger’s Embrace itself is a debuff that is applied going into the skyriding phase that applies a time stop, root, and pacify+silence. You need to use Take Off to remove this aura, which is why every skyriding icon is replaced with it.

My first time doing this on my brewmaster monk, was able to use steady flying because I vomit on my keyboard otherwise. Next two characters I took into this had problems.
My balance druid was also set for steady flying, so when the mount-up came, I switched into travel form and to my everlasting surprise I saw I had become a cheetah. I had the flight mode switch on my action bar but could not switch coz I was moving… read as falling to my death.
The ret pally in ilvl 691 gear suffered from a general companion AI failure, the AI pally tank was healing random full health AI-controlled characters, then once on the first platform nearly the whole AI crew became bricked and contributed nothing, leaving my character and 3 random AI characters to soak the fight with no healing. My battle rez had 6 charges on my action bar, but they wouldn’t work on any of the dead AI characters. And there were many. I gave it three wipes before I checked out of that broken mess. Brann’s brain rot has spread to pet classes and now followers in raids…
I hate everything about this shoving a mode of flight onto me, I have destroyed three very expensive mechanical keyboards with copious vomit, now this. Making this game accessible is a joke. If someone else had not dropped the cash to gift me with Midnight, I am so close to done with WoW that I am seriously ready to find some other game to take my money.

Tbh I never noticed this at all, I guess because I was already spamming my key for Whirling Surge. Must’ve just been immediately canceling and casting right after. This would explain some of the odd behavior reported by my guild the first time they saw the fight last week.
Thanks for the advice but no matter what the game will not let me move. I’m just letting my sub run out. I was away for sometime, come back running solo doing the same stuff everyday. The game is not fun like it once was
More and more this game is becoming hostile to people with diabilities. I had a LOT of trouble in Undermine because of motion sickness using the special car. If you have problems with your hands, or eyes, or other disabilities, this game is not for you.
That’s not the case. I use the Otterworldly Ottuk mount just fine on normal Dimensius. The Otterworldly Ottuk is steady flight only, which might or might not make a difference. Lots of players are running into bugs that cause issues with steady flight, but it is possible. I hope the bug(s) that are causing problems with steady flight on Dimensius are fixed so that players who have problems with skyriding can do Dimensius on any difficulty.
I have died so many times for strange reasons story mode has to be bugged. It wasn’t obvious we need to mount after the first phase. I start to fly and get hit by the rock and die. Next time I get to the first platform and get one shotted for some reason. Several attempts later I kill the add on the first platform mount up again get through the first ring and just die again.
Sorry but I shouldn’t need to know the full strength mechanics for story mode
