Our water does suck for sure. lol. But whatever it not the end of the world. It’s trash.
thank you for explaining
try buffing fort on 10 players… it takes 4 full drinking before you can finish… sucks so bad
maybe priests can get a rune of buffing that we slap on a piece of gear and makes casting fortify cost 1mana
welcome to classic. It’s a big different.
Went to retail this morning and made it to lev 20 without the use of mana… so I see why everyone is so hooked on wanting the mana restriction removed.
Go back to retail.
So they give us spells from Wrath and beyond … And introduce things like fake resilience in WSG … If they’re going to throw all this non-vanilla stuff at us, why not change mana regen as well!?
Fair enough. I don’t know!
I mean, it’s not really clear to me exactly who the target audience is intended to be, and how far we’re going to go with these runes.
If we keep getting more and more OP with each phase, which it sure seems like we will, then where exactly is the line between Classic and Retail?
I’m still having fun, and I don’t feel like we’ve crossed it. I suspect it has a lot more to do with convenience features and so called “QoL” than OP dmg and healing output, for me at least, but who knows how others feel and who knows how long that will remain the case?
To add to that, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t both surprised by how much fun I’m having right now, while also being quite skeptical that I’ll keep enjoying it going into later phases… but I suppose we shall see.
I can only speculate, but my guess is that some of the goals of the Classic project is to not just expand subscription counts, but build a bridge for Classic enjoyers to dip their toes in modern WoW experiences. Maybe there are elements that people will get exposed to that make them want to explore further (which could lead to expansion purchases, especially if friends are swayed).
I just wanted to say that for the first time since 2014, I created a horde chara (shaman) to test the mana usage.
I did not see any major issues as others are claiming. So unless blizzard fixed something on the fly, My shaman cast very well with a faster than normal mana regeneration rate. I’ll ask anyone who’s having issues with mana regeneration, to log in and check again.
Are you perhaps a prophet?
Literally hit the nail right on the head 2 months in advance.

Lol I’m just happy my assumption was so close to the truth!
Makes me excited for whats to come next - if that assumption was true, then the devs really are leaning hard on the experimental nature of the season are are testing how far they can and cannot take aspects of old school design philosophy.
Downrank your spes nublet
Blizz still needs to add better water. Maybe give mages QoL that allows them to conjure more than 2 water at a time? With full buffs, the best water restores half my mana pool. It’s ridiculous.
I, too, think mana sucks. Classic in general is slower and mana maintenance is a known problem in Classic that will probably never be fixed. Although it would be nice to see them shake things up in this “season of discovery.”
Maybe frost bolt could start the mana over time buff from Wotlk
I don’t mean this in a rude way but this game just probably isn’t for you dude.
came back mana still sucks
No. We aren’t doing this retail nonsense. Mana is fine. Use comsumes
Be more efficient
Having played a mage in Vanilla and also in Classic and now again in SoD… Let me assure you - it is much much worse than it had ever been. It takes my mana 60 seconds to get full mana as Arcane spec in SoD, about 50 for Fire.
I spent about 50% of the second gnomer clear sitting on the ground drinking while people played the game.
Downtime is totally fine. It’s necessary for classic to work this way.
I would like to see the time spent drinking to full mana reduced to 30 seconds or so. This is healthy amount of time. Currently, for mages particularly it is extremely punishing.
What is even worse currently is how bad food is for PVP purposes, most notably STV. Health pools are 4k+ and people are getting 1300 HP/30 sec.
Again, downtime is fine and good, but classic food/water was not designed for us having HP/Mana pools that are more closely aligned with early TBC than level 40.
Unlockable %HP/%Mana water is the silver bullet. Make it expensive. Make it a quest. ANYTHING. I want to play, but it really is absolute agony to do anything when you cast spells for 30 seconds so you can sip for the next 60.
