Mana Regen Nerf and Mana Rift

Now that mana regen was slashed by half across the board for all healers, any chance to reduce the amount of mana that Mana Rift destroys on every use? I mean… 8% o every few secs is a bit strong, don’t you think?

Won’t happen. How else is Cdew meant to win games?

Most head scratching thing to me is that TWD is arguably the strongest comp in the current meta and up until I stopped watching they didn’t try to run Mes and Trill together once. I don’t know if they tried at all later or not.

Probably because Rshaman WWDK loses to Rdruid WWDK and Cdew didn’t feel comfortable enough on Rdruid to mirror Gorecki yet considering Gorecki’s pretty much the unanimous top Rdruid in NA currently. (followed closely by Kubzy)

He’ll probably attempt to mirror next week if the meta doesn’t change and he gets some more practice on Rdruid.

But we can take about the guardian Druid pick during the EU games.

Mana burn was removed and nerfed from other clasess previously who actually used Mana. Why dh was ever given the ability is beyond me. Promotes bad unfun gameplay

Hype what comps you running this season? Loved watching you play scatter.

Still doing Scatter and a bit of RMD now. Not enjoying the cleave meta as much.

They inadvertently nerfed the spriest mind blast trait for pve reasons so scatter isn’t as good without gear but still enjoyable.

Not only this but it was removed from the actual people using mana because Blizz felt the mechanic was toxic for this very reason - unfun gameplay. Then it gets brought back in outta no where and thrown on one of the most mobile melee with a talented, ranged physical stun that has no counter play and can’t be avoided.

Blizz needs a lesson on designing good counter play. We should have mechanics that are fun to use and fun to go against. Not this.

Bumping up, since 8.1.5 is out and there are no changes on Mana Rift …

On a different but related note… this nerf has been live for awhile now, and I am of the opinion that it’s way too severe of a nerf. Even if the theory behind it makes some sense it’s just too much… constantly being worried about mana is changing my gameplay- it shouldn’t be a constant worry. On my Mistweaver speccing into way of the Crane with it’s 25k mana hit is not workable… and like the OP mentioned the devs conveniently forgot about nerfing mana rift commensurately.
I annoy myself if and when I think in a conspiratorial way… but sometimes I think devs have it in for casters/mana users as a mode of operation

The problem is that absolutely zero counterplay exists for the healer. Once a DH starts running at you with stun + rift, the game is completely out of your (the healer’s) hands. It becomes 100% up to your DPS to do decide the game.

Not to mention mana is so hands off and uninteractive now and DHs have so much mobility that it’s not like you’re going to ever be able to drink.

Mana rift was already nerfed to the point where many DH don’t take the ability in 3v3. It costs 50 fury, which could be better used for more dps. And I really love the generalization, “every few seconds.” I didn’t know 30 seconds counted as every few seconds.
