Mana regen lvl 1-15

Just wondering if with the classic wow release you'll be reverting back to how mana regen and health regen used to be, I want to be using water and food that I start with and die if I pull 2-4 things at once being a hybrid class or die if I pull 2 things as a dps/tank class for levels 1-15. That's how I remember it in classic and the Burning Crusade then near the end of BC mana regen got changed completely, I just want to know if it's going to use the old mechanics for mana/health regen or use the newer version. In combat regen should be nonexistent until you get MP5 gear so we can actually use our food/water we start with.
Was patch 2.4 which changed the mana regen system :)
If they use the buffed mana regen system, people will flip their lids. I can't see that happening at all.
I can't imagine they wont have this in there. It's a pretty core part of leveling in Vanilla to have to worry about mana efficiency, drinking/eating/bandages, and pulling carefully.

Also in Vanilla mana regen was the 5 second rule. If you stopped casting for 5 seconds mana regen would start, and some classes had a talent to let a small percentage of mana regen continue while casting.

Being in or out of combat had nothing to do with it.

This. One surefire way to keep me from playing would be to use the late BC+ mana regen model.

I don't know about that.

I realize things were changed up during Vanilla, but I recall in or out of combat regen being a thing. This is why MP5 was so sought after, as it allowed(along with certain talents) to actually regen mana WHILE in combat. The mana regened in combat was dependent on other factors like your class and again, talents.

The '5 second rule' applied while in combat. If you cast something while out of combat, your regen will stay the same. The 5 second rule won't apply.

5 seconds of no-casting, even while in combat, will allow regular spirit-based regen to begin.
mp5 allowed regen to happen even while casting in combat, ie. at all times
There was no MP5 in classic. I believe it was spirit that caused mana regen. Also, spirit gave health regen, apparently. Health regen was removed in Cata.

And there was Nightfin soup which gave you 162 mana every 5 seconds for 10 minutes. This consumable was required for high end raiding.

Nightfin could only be caught at night in a few specific places.

That number doesn't look right. I know it was by far the best food buff for a healer but 162/5 seems way out of whack.

edit to add: Because it is way out of whack...

14 + spi/4 :)

or 15 + spi/5 for those lesser casters
In classic, everybody is a hemophiliac--with their respective energy source.

You're going to get really cozy with wands and white damage.
