Mana Pearl usage

Hey guys,

So I been grinding rep and been collecting a lot of mana pearls. I just do the quests for the rep, the mana pearls are just a added bonus. Let me clariy, I don’t care about flying, pets or mounts I just want the essences. Now right now I am little bored with the grind but what ever, it’s a MMO. I recognize that is part of the game.

This is mostly regarding mana pearls, I am mostly a high key player (15s, 16s and 17s) and a heroic raider. So just from keys alone I will be geared very quickly. Is it worth to get the little step up gear wise to upgrade my gear using mana pearls or just hold them for the essences? I have like 150 right now even after upgrading a random piece to the highest it will go. Or are the added bonuses from the gear very worthwhile in the new raid?

People who raid and do a crap load of keys, what are you doing with your mana pearls?

I’m filling regrettable rng holes from last tier with it, which would be better if only there were rings. So many youtube videos saying “naj for armor, mecha for rings”. 395 ring…cool.

Either way you’ll have it for 6 months so catch up where you can now and farm out for the stuff you don’t need right away.

Do you do any trades? Most classes need to unlock the new forge in order to craft any trinkets, armor etc. The first forge upgrade is available, the next is gated behind raid release. That quest requires a pile of them.

I forgot about the forge, I need to research that. I don’t know Jack about it

It’s a buy 15 things with mana pearls quest. I needed it for the new alchemy trinket. I’ve done that and now I’ve been replacing gear slots, as far as I read ahead, I think you only need the pearls for the first step, so I personally just got it out of the way.

I beleive as you increase your mecha rep, you can get 420 rings/trinkets. Not as easy as Naz gear since it’s time gated by rep, but hey, it’s there.

Think it’s 410 unless there’s one after that.

At honored you can buy a blueprint for the advanced augment, which produces a 410.

I got screwed on my 410 ring. I made a 395 with crit/mastery and a gem slot.

My 410 was ver/haste with no slot.

Yea, i banked the 410 until i see a reason to sell it.

…there’s a new forge? TIL.

Bought two cloak tokens and lucked out getting both cloaks I wanted from the benthic gear. I’ll use pearls to get everything else and then likely won’t have a use for the benthic gear by that point.

Honestly? They’re just sitting there since I haven’t quite figured out what to do with them.

I’m using them to upgrade my armor. I don’t really care for high level PvE so slightly-worse-than-Heroic Raid gear is fine with me.

I know there’s at least one pet, and maybe even a toy or two for your collecting needs, my dear Grumbles.

Little pets?!?!? (dashes off to find this pet!) Thank you ever so much.

Save them then mass buy a specific slot hoping for Leech/speed/gem proc.

^ This. At Honored, you get a 410 ring which requires materials that are increased a modest amount (5 of the daily quest purple material versus 3 for the 395/400 Friendly rep ring – I haven’t seen how many materials are required for the Revered 420, yet, but I’m guessing it will be 7 of this purple quality material that you can get daily).

There’s also an “upgradeable” trinket on Mecha-Guh-Nome that you get early on with a quest (nothing in three color coded sockets), and a followup quest (The First One Is Free, or named something similar) gives you two of the three sockets, and you can buy the third color from the Quartermaster at a low reputation level.

You can buy one of the socket colors at Revered and it’s listed as item level 415, so I’m guessing it will increase the item level of your trinket when you add it to a socket. The trinket defaults to iLevel 404 if you have the first three sockets filled with the quest reward and the first quartermaster socket item (which is listed at item level 404 when you see it on the vendor).

Tbh if you are beyond the point of spending the pearls on upgrades and you don’t care for toys/mounts, then just buy benthic tokens for alts. A full set of 385 gear even with non-ideal stats goes a long way to bring a new class up to speed. But then most people that roll that many alts, tend to just want to use them for cosmetic farming. Something that you don’t want.

Where do o start the ques line? I am halfway through honored atm

Yeah I encountered it last night making the alchemy trinket. Thankfully, I completed it on launch day not knowing what it was. It opened a raid quest for palace, but as of a few days ago that quest seems to have disappeared from our logs.

Right at the tradeskill trainers in Naj on Alliance side, can’t say that i know where on horde sorry.

They explain it quite well, you can start the forge now to make the 410 items, you need to rank it up by getting items in the new raid so we are basically stuck at 410 til next Tues.
