Man I tried

Playing Holy takes some serious skill , I can play most healers , but Holy is a whole different animal . I tried , but I’m cutting my losses. that spec is a nightmare In my opinion

You doing the erm glimmer build or w.e its called?

Maybe you think it’s hard playing a spec that uses light because you’re a roach.

I tried . going from resto druid to that is night and day . I cant do the whole melee on the boss and watch the raid frames at the same time

I don’t heal anything but PvP, so I don’t really have an understanding of the challenges in healing PvE content, having not experienced it.

What makes holy so difficult?

I tip my hat to Holy paladins

Have you tried setting the boss to focus, and just using /cast [@focus] Crusader Strike /cast [@focus] Judgement

? would that fix the problem? You would just need to stand where you could hit him and could heal normally otherwise.

It might work , I’m just not feeling it

Oh. That I understand. :stuck_out_tongue:

did a paladin give up on trying too retake the holy lands?

infidel! jk jk.

Holy Priest?

It’s not that hard, know what Power Word you are building toward and keep it’s CD in mind.

If you are talking about Holy Paladin, I’m assuming you are talking about being in the effects that Melee has to deal with and watching it as well as watching raid frames?

Have you tried moving your UI around to make watching frames easier? I know ElvUi has the ability to have spec specific Ui setups. I use it when I play my Druid, the Healer and Tank Ui for the character are vastly different.

I’m loving Holy for M+ but I don’t quite get how it’s supposed to deal with the heavy AoE periods most raid fights are designed around. Seems like the spec just continues to spot heal with LoD thrown in for a negligible little boost now and again.

From the spec designs of the other healers what I can see is that during heavy AoE periods Holy Paladin is meant to keep the tanks up or other single targets up while the other healers focus on AoE HPS.

Different specs fill different roles etc.

Thats because you dont understand how glimmer build works, it does 70k AOE HPS if you know what you’re doing.

Some specs are just not for everybody

How does it work then? You can only keep glimmer on a few targets at one time outside of cooldowns, and it takes many globals to get a significant number rolling with wings, seems like you’d miss the AoE healing window at that point because one of the other healers will just pop a raidwide CD.

Is it one of the things where you have to pop the CD like 10s before the damage comes to spread glimmer around?

At that point I feel like I’d rather just have MoP Holy pally back with Eternal Flame.

Stop doing this, you lose so many white swing damage its not even funny.

The hardest part of glimmer build is getting used to not heal the target that is taking damage with shock, and know when to ignore infusion.

To define glimmer, think of it this way -
1: All your other buttons dont really matter except crusader strike / holy shock, and the cooldowns.
2: You really don’t want to holy shock someone that already has the glimmer buff, and just glimmer a different person (Just resist the urge, since your goal is hps, you want to be padding instead of saving people yeah?)
3: ???
4: Boost ego with hps meters

Seriously, might as well play a diff raid healer if you’d play glimmer hpal.

I don’t like holy much either. It feels like there’s too much “set up” time. By the time you get wings and the team wide beacon up your group members are already dead.

I’ll go one step further.
Priest is a nightmare.
