Man, getting junk delve trinkets as your top items in the vault sucks

After two decades, there isn’t a question about it at all.

This is a deliberate attempt to add another time sink / time gate layer to delves - not some ‘ooops’ oversight.

obviously we are talking about delve trinkets. I don’t even understand your question. And I thought it was painfully obvious that I was including the other gear slots when I talked about a 1 in 4 ratio. What part of the math aren’t you understanding?

You realize you only listed Trinkets, Rings, Cloaks, and Necks right? Meaning you didn’t include Helmet, Chest, Wrist, Gloves, Legs, or Boots in your 1 in 3 and 1 in 4 calculation.

Why so hostile?

Then why are you listing M+ trinkets?

They’re taking a lot of plays out of the Path of Exile playbook, which is a free to play indie game basically.

Tons of currencies, fragments that turn into a currency, tiny trickling of currency, gigantic F U loot pools that are purposely designed to make it hard to gear yourself, purposeful lack of determinism.

They for sure are being coached by live service blueprints and it’s just getting worse imo. None of this crap exists in single player games. When you go play a single player game and then come to a live service one, it’s jarring, the tactics they use are slapping you in the nether region.

I feel like if you fill every slot in vault you should be able to reroll vault at least once idk

That wouldn’t matter.

Bottom line. There’s 2-5x more trinkets than other slots.

Your odds of seeing a trinket in a given delve box or vault slots is disproportionately higher than any other item type.

And it’s dumb. There should be like 5 trinkets per role, not 12.

I got it from a list of delve trinkets, so assumed that was one. Honestly was mixing it up with the Core Recycling Unit in my head. Trying to actually find the list of delve specific rewards is difficult, so okay, remove THAT one from the list.

As for the math, yes, you could get a gear slot item, or a weapon, or one of about probably 7 or 8 trinkets depending on your class and spec.

The point is 1 each for the armor slots, maybe 2-3 for weapon slots, maybe 2-3 for ring, 1-2 for back, 1-2 for neck, so far that’s 18 OTHER options and 7 to 8 trinket options.

Man, I must have awful luck then

I have multiple characters that have 4+ heroic delve trinkets at this point.

I legit can’t get any trinkets lol

Pretty sure each armour slot has 2 stat combos. Might be 3.

Rings have every permutation of the 4 stats. Necks do too I think?

Then there’s 1 of each weapon type.

Aand 11-12 trinkets

That’s the trade off of doing only delve content.

They do it on purpose to push people into multiple forms of content.

Why wouldn’t it matter? When you are trying to draw odds you need to calculate all of the potential drops. Not just half of the loot table.

Yes, and there’s multiple variants for each gear, weapon, and off-hand slot. So it’s not just 1 per against the list of trinkets.

I literally already said this:

I’m not sure if it’s earnest devs trying to offer up trinket options that are “interesting” for non-raiders, or if it’s a deliberate attempt to force folks into raiding or M+ for ALL of their other gear (or crafting), but either way, it’s a bad implementation.

I feel it, for some reason, every week, rng keeps blessing me the blastmaster trinket. I will take any other trinket at this point.

For the last time blizzard, I get blasted enough, I am good, please stop now XD

Because we’re not drawing total odds. We’re comparing odds.

I don’t need to know the entire loot table to say I’m 4x as likely to see something there’s 12 of than something there’s 3 of. The ratio is what matters, not the actual probability.

It’s odd to compare odds when the Vault doesn’t discriminate. You get 1 of the entire pool per vault slot.

For a priest you are 3x more likely to see a trinket in your vault than a weapon or off hand. You are 4-6x more likely to see one than a given gear slot, eg helm.

But how are you coming up with these odds if you are not looking at the entire pool per class/spec? I just don’t understand how you can look at just trinkets, necks, rings, and cloak and come up with 3x or 4x more likely odds.

People who play all the forms of the game are always going to have an advantage over those that don’t.
