Maldraxxus shouldve been a PvP zone

5 houses to choose from, PvP WQs to fight for control they even have a colloseum in the middle to fight in for a free for all style combat (dalaran sewers).

Why did they completely miss this opportunity?

How does it work for warmode off?

It wouldn’t. Warmode auto on. Time to fight!

There used to be dedicated PvP zones in expansions where you’d go do PvP dailies.

Used to be.

Did you see how many people were upset with a one week prepatch?

Can you imagine the chaos if an entire zone was dedicated to PvP? The forums would implode.

I love how its always 1400 rated “pvpers” asking for world pvp.

Listen brah no one cares about world pvp.

Like sure sometimes I might kill some one I see sometimes I might not. and sometimes i might only kill some one that attacks me.

But no one really cares about world “pvp”

go get gladiator in the arena. or get the bloodthirsty title in BGs

Years back, I remember they had a quest you had to do in pvp in order to earn an achievement that gave you a mount (if I remember correctly). I queued up for Alterac Valley, had no clue what I was doing, and I wasn’t the only one. Pvpers were livid that a bunch of casual noobs with PvE gear were messing things up for them. The leader name-called people and screamed profanities, so bad that you’d think he popped a vein in his forehead. I felt bad. We had no idea what to do, how to fight other players that were hopping all around you and wouldn’t stay still, no idea what the leader meant when he said to defend towers, etc. But most of us were there just to do the mission to earn our achievements, stepping on the toes of the real PVPers who were there to do what they do best.

I seriously hope for other players’ sake, it’s not a forced WPVP, because there’d be a lot of angry pvpers here venting their drama, and rightfully so.

They could simply avoid the entire zone. You don’t have to participate in PvP WQs if it gives only PvP rewards like conquest and honor.

It would be auto turned on. Like in those PvP Legion areas.

Cause some people enjoy world pvp more then rated pvp go figure. I’ve made more friends in Dalaran Sewers doing wpvp then I have doing literally anything else in this game.

Not a PVP fan, but have been in past and totally agree with this! They missed the mark on this one.

Stop saying “no one cares about PvP.” a lot of people enjoy it.

I’m not sure I have enough popcorn and tequila clouds to absorb all that salt.

Many people care for the rewards. I got the title and mount in BFA and will do the same in Shadowlands. That Deathbringer’s Flayedwing will be mine.

You make a good point, but do you think forums functions that way? :stuck_out_tongue: They don’t listen to logic.

It would have been glorious to behold.

troll gets forever ignored…

… Except if a quest (not minor ones, major storylines as well) or a mythic dungeon quest or profession quest need them to go over there, or if some piece of gear they need one of those WQ’s to catch up with, or –

Nah, just avoid the entire zone, it’s that easy. /s  :hammer:

Wait, how is this logic? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Unless they make Maldraxxus completely optional and not part of the main storylines or any quests that forces you to go over there (besides PvP quests) and just make it a sheer PvP zone, or at least do what Dalaran Sewers did and give you a guard or two or phase you out of it, or unless you desire nothing over there at all, i don’t see how simply avoiding it is logical. From Between Pre-patch and Shadowlands, we both know you can’t simply avoid the zones (Pre patch: SW/Org, and now: Maldraxxus) because you have to go there at some point, whether it is to get something you need or get to somewhere you need to be. Plus, how will this work for new players who don’t like or might not be interested in PvP all that much?

It’s like having Orbios being invaded by ghouls and i say “Oh you can just avoid it”… Umm, no you can’t unless you want or desire nothing other there? Or get out of Shadowlands if you don’t have a hearthstone or not a mage or shaman?

I do agree their should be new dedicated PvP zones or PvP areas that function like your Dalaran Sewers, but to make a mandatory zone into PvP all the sudden isn’t a great idea.

It certainly would have been a good area for at least a Gurubashi-esque arena thing. It wouldn’t have to be an entire PvP zone with forced PvP or anything. That’d be a bad idea for obvious reasons.

One of the dungeons has a bit where you’re forced to duel another party member though! I’m still curious how that affects things though. I didn’t read into it. I just dueled. Is it one of those things where the “efficient” route is to just lay down and die to get back to the boss fight?

I wonder how soloing that dungeon is gonna work one day.

They could phase you for the introduction story stuff like they do with most things these days.

The entrances could be near safe zones, so just dont wonder outside the safe zone and you will be fine. Or like you said yourself give people who want to do quest stuff a guard for hire. Other then that there is nothing else to it. No need to have put profession quests in there or other minor inconveniences not related to PvP.
