Server seems so quiet. Never see anyone running around, and is a struggle to form groups for quests.
Can’t seem to find census data on it either.

Feels fine to me
Oce wanted there own server. Many oce are playing on NA servers because they were worried the oce server would die quickly as all previous ones have before.
Honestly I don’t understand the mentality. Blizzard has shown that if people want off, they’ll be given off, so why suffer the ping?
If they go OCE, they risk losing names and/or community on the inevitable transfer day 6 months in the future.
Server transfers are far from a perfect solution. The goal is to never have to transfer, so why not just go to the place everyone will end up right off the rip.
Playing an MMO kinda sucks when it feels like an empty world.
I loved how OG classic was just chockers full of players. City was full, questing zones were full. Kind of an issue when 30 people are trying to kill Hogger, but it does lead to interesting moments where players were literally queuing behind each other to kill quest specific NPCS.
I think the culprit here is layering. I feel confident that you’d have this feeling of crowding if people weren’t all as separated out as they are.
Kinda defeats the purpose of mmo if theres nobody around you due to layering lol
Returning home from holidays, me and many others prob.
And they can see the west coast numbers on on weekdays if they have the day off or something.
I play from this part of the region. On week days off with with west coast I see the options one gets playing with all the West coasters on their now prime time.
Historically this a slow time for OCE/Asia region. I’ve seen it dead in many games as all the 9 to 5’ers are not playing. Now when the Aussies and Kiwi’s get online after 1800 their times…then it picks up.
Why at this point I always take a west coast option. Or closest. Some are saying these are Mountain Tz servers. Seeing their primetime busy outweighs ping hit to me.
Well I knew this post would eventually come around - I tried to warn you guys of this.
There’s at least 4-5 large OCE guilds on Dreamscythe Alliance and 2 on the Horde side.
You guys cried hard for an OCE server because of “muh ping” when in reality 160ms is perfectly fine and I’ve had literally zero issues. I played Whitemane which is 160ms as well.
How the cookie crumbles.
Its not done crumbling. Cata server moves for dead OCE servers were free only for OCE servers. Hence the rise of Arugal.
If one wanted US moves, whip out the CC. Blizzard free moves have strings. Even for the US. When wrath was killing server log ins even, you didn’t get to leave “good servers” to “good servers” for free.
Free options were more places like Old blanchy. Which imo was not a bad server. I was there a bit. But it be a home some more picky would go “I didn’t want that.”
This has nowhere to go if 6 month fade hits. Also has nowhere to go if a blood elf rush comes in tbc. Or draenei…that could go either way maybe. I’d see that pegging char creation lock in a worst case.
You want stable ping esp on PvP or Hardcore as they’re more intensive and high stakes
But in saying that, not much point of playing a stable server to engage with players if there are limited players to begin with.
Perhaps they just need to remove layers
I have friends on Nightslayer too that aren’t having any issues finding their “PvP”
I genuinely believe we didn’t need an OCE server but I see why people want it.
How many layers generally does the server get?
it feels like retail tbh.
even day 1 of TWW it was nearly empty. Despite a million nerds literally being online.
No avoiding it if you want to do BG’s.
How many layers typically on the server? Dreamscythe gets anywhere from 8-10 during Peak US times and 3-4 during OCE prime times.
I play on Maladath and I see people around everywhere in the questing areas. Sometimes it is harder to get a tank/healer for lfg but rolling a priest has made lfg easier for myself. Stormwind is bustling with people though IF can look empty.
It’s been fine so far for me as Horde. No problems grouping for dungeons or quests.
Capital cities seem a little empty, but I’m giving the benefit of the doubt that it’s mainly cause everyone’s out leveling.
yep- 3 very large active oceanic guilds on pve NA server and we all agree it is exactly because we know the oceanic one will fail, as it has past few iterations
