Making PvP Better

Suggestions as a long time WoW PvP only player.

Every single season we should have a standard PvP Mount, similar to what exists right now for Gladiator in 3v3.

However, each and every single bracket should have a unique color variation of it.

  • 2v2
  • 3v3
  • 10v10
  • Solo Shuffle
  • Battleground Blitz

On top of this, achieving 2400 in any bracket, earning you your Elite Class title, should persist for the duration of the entire expansion. Not just for the single season. Encourage some fun here with this idea. Think, can you achieve Elite on each class before the next expansion?

These are common sense ideas that would greatly improve interest in PvP in every bracket and for the duration of the entire expansion. Do we want more people engaged in PvP across the board or do we not?

Past this, implement these…

  1. Pump some gold back into PvP
  2. Blacklisting Battlegrounds returns
  3. Tol Barad Epic Battleground
  4. Gladiator’s Coliseum Brawl
  5. More Honor Level Rewards past 500
  6. Some use for over-capped Vicious Saddles
  7. A General PvP Forum to discuss broad design and philosophy

Before anyone comments about how WoW PvP is balanced around 3v3, and that this bracket deserves its own special mount… I do not care.

I want more people playing World of Warcraft and I want more people specifically playing PvP. That should be the priority right now, not catering to only one single bracket of WoW PvP.

Nah the mounts should be completely different models not just recolor

Just think about it, people will take the elite in the most inflationary first season and stop striving for it.

While true prolly will never see the dev time to get that.

Better off something like the vicious mount matches the honor set, ss bgb mount matches the conq set, and glad matches the elite set. We would have a better chance getting that and these fools would finally make matching mounts for pvp sets.

Even better.

This sounds ridiculous. One, that is never going to happen by even a substantial minority of the PvP playerbase. Second, even if it somehow did, that would still be immensely more participation in one season. Which is a win.

Past this, you would still strive for Legend and Gladiator each season plus each new mount.

Unfortunately, this is the reality. That is why I suggested just one mount with different color variations. That is in the realm of possibility.

They sure seem to find the dev time to make endless amounts of e-girl gamer transmog/mounts at the trading post every month

To put it in perspective, they get stuff like this every single month, PvP gets new mounts 1-2 times a year. Yes, this mount is really cutesy and girly, but a lot of time and effort obviously went into that.

Pvp won’t improve unless something is done about the toxic player base. Blizzard doesn’t care enough to fix anything.

The growing toxicity in the playerbase was a natural consequence of Blizzard moving towards making the game effectively a lobby one.

When you had to effectively communicate with other players on your server and be civil or else risk making yourself a pariah.

Before dungeon que, lfr, and soloques, your reputation as a person and a player affected how well you did in getting groups.

If you were a known ninja, griefer, a legendary crash out, insufferable ego manic, or otherwise :poop: of a human being then you didn’t get groups.

Now there is no such consequences, so the toxic peope grew and the people willing to put up with that started disappearing, all because the people who made themselves pariahs of their server wanted people to be forced to play with them.

If you want that, then you’d need to make pvp give pve gear again.

If they want to do that, then they’d probably need to remove solo Q modes and let groups just choose to ostracize and exclude toxic players.

What people suffering the consequences of their own actions?

What a novel idea.

Could you expand on your understanding of this statement

A major reason the playerbase is toxic, is because PvP is a long-neglected game mode.

As the game mode becomes increasingly more apparent as a low-meaning way to play the game, people simply will not care as much.

If the rewards are better, development is more consistent, communication is more transparent and the future felt hopeful, the natural consequence is an improved base pool of players.

Past this you simply can’t control everyone. Players everywhere across all games are toxic in different ways.

But as the game declines, it gets worse.

Making PVP Better:

Step 1: Weakauras go
Step 2: 123 isn’t the meta.

Worst form of toxicity is low and mid mmr players refusing to play with each other but that’s a difficult conversation most people aren’t ready to accept, although it isn’t helped by shuffle/blitz sort of being cheat codes to everything other than glad due to bugged/exploit tier mmr

One of the biggest toxic parts are the “elitists” that talk down and insult people that aren’t high ranked.

Context is usually them making false/ignorant assertations so

I love when my point is proven LOL

I mean if somebody puts forward something that’s just wrong and also has little to no exp then yeah it’ll be dismissed instantly as it should be

Not that the same statement wouldn’t be as easily ignored if it were from a higher exp player

Did anyone in this thread say anything about your rating?
