Making money with Herb & Alchemy

Ok so I always made my money in classic via gathering professions like herbalism, skinning and mining. I never tried actual crafting professions. I’ve read online that herbalism/alchemy makes good money but I’ve got some questions.

  1. At what point do you start making money? Is it a struggle during early stages?

  2. I’ll be playing on a PvE server. Does that change the demand for pots and stuff?

  3. I forgot my other questions

Any help would be appreciated.

Swiftthistle sells well. (Tea and recipes)

Swiftness Potions sell well. (Impatience, or PvP.)

Free Action Potions sell well. (PVP)

Level 23 Fire Resist Potions sell well. (MC)

Elixir of Defense sells well (used in recipes).

Lesser Invisibilty is selling well now, Dire Maul related me thinks.

You could sell people Arcanite transmutes later on.

I enjoy herbalism and alchemy. That said, there is good money to be made gathering plants. But not so much with alchemy. Generally speaking you do better selling the raw mats than the finished product. There are always exceptions, but in time recipes are in the hands of every alchemist, so the stuff you make adds little value to the raw materials.

All herbs will sell, but your major moneymaker later on is gonna be Dreamfoil. Consistently worth a pretty penny. But all the high-level herbs are worth picking up.

Yea I’ve leveled herbalism on an alt, and once I got high enough to gather herbs such as Goldthorn and Fadeleaf I started making some good money. So I’m familiar with the raw gathering aspect.
