Sit at the auction house and make gold off of raiders who would rather buy a high in demand gem for 25g loss than buy the raw cut and find someone to cut it.
Any of the good cardinal ruby recipes have a good chance (runed, bold are two big ones, fractured is another), there’s probably a bunch of people doing it though. JC is mainly a raiding profession so there like half of the population are jewelcrafters themselves, its risky
I think you can still sell the ilvl 200 rings for a significant markup on most servers for some reason. Dragon’s Eyes sell for around 100-200g ea, generally, and you can get one a day from JC tokens and potentially more from Icy Prisms.
Don’t prospect ore. Find gems that are worth less than sockets, cut them, then sell them. Can also cut other people’s gems. Either way, you need to get the recipes first.
Unless you’re hardcore, you make money in JC by doing the daily, and indirectly by saving money on not having to tip someone else for your cuts.
And as drain notes, if there are specific cuts you can reliably upsell after buying the base gem (and paying the AH cut), then do that. But with Phase 4 start in the bag I don’t know that market is still reliable either.
I use my alchemist toon to turn a Frozen Orb + Scarlet Ruby (100g combined, max), into 1-5 Cardinal Rubies that I then cut into a mix of Fractured/Runed/Bold for 330-400g each.
This is the laziest version. Could get more complicated throwing in other colors and cuts with more Alchemy + JC alts, but this has been enough to buy me enough tokens for the bit of time I’m going to be sticking with the game for.
You realize the JC daily gives you an item(well technically a currency that you can buy an item with) you can sell on the AH which depending on the server can be as much as 170+g?
I didn’t say that and I don’t really know where you got that from what I wrote. Alchemy gives easy access to epic gems each day, they go well together I’d say, but you certainly don’t need it.
