Making a warlock

I give up. I wanna see 300k bolts too. For all current warlocks, I am sorry- we are going to be nerfed, once I commit to a class, blizz suddenly has updates.

No doubt they check up on runtopillar, and see how he’s decided to change his class, and then make all kinds of changes…

you will soon discover it sucks just as much playing as a destro lock as it does playing against one.

Do you mean sucks as in not viable
Or sucks as in not fun to play

this 500x over

the only thing as unfun as qing into a destro lock
is playing a destro lock

the entire playstyle and counterplay style is so far away from fun i can’t even fathom why the current incarnations version exists

unless ur a wal-mart associate primordial caveman qing double destro you’ll hate yourself as much as everyone around you hates you for being a fat purple idiot

I can confirm destro isn’t fun to play as one either. I finally decided to level mine up and see what all the fuss is about. Then I queue against melee cleaves and cast only 5 bolts a game if I’m lucky. Even when you juke they just imprison or death grip you 2 inches or any other pseudo interrupt. Kinda makes me want to just delete it.

Then you finally get the game where you play against the noobs that let you get a chain of bolts off and you delete something 100-0 in two casts on a hard swap and you feel redeemed.

It’s like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich except one side is creamy peanut butter and the other is poop. It’s just which flavor of the sandwich you taste more but you’re still eating poop.

Hope you enjoy it. I personally loved my lock but i wont play it again in PVP util they give destro back a execute (to be clear that is just a feature i liked not that i believe they need any help atm) or make affliction a little more enjoyable.

They have an execute. It’s chaos bolt when the target is below 50%.

 i actually knew someone was going to respond with this. and i would say potentially 80% or less. I saw a 344k bolt (at least what my details showed) this past weekend.

I hit a 149k bolt on a war with 139k hp in the packed house brawl and he only lost 40% of his health.

My druid had 368k health this weekend and got hit for 168k followed by 192k in 2 globals without supremacy stacks. Add in 8k random damage from dots/pets/azerite during the globals and I flopped.

My guess is void ritual was up.

I feel the same way about DH. From the outside it looks like a lot of fun, but once you play the class it feels about as engaging to play it as it does to play against it - super boring and uneventful.

My stun is up? Okay time to mana burn and keep PvEing until the healer is OOM for a win. Oh look random damage won the game for me, that’s neat.

Dh is very very boring to play. I have one with 445 ilvl and…dropped. Gameplay is very repetitive…

Yeah it’s really fun having good mobility, but the gameplay is very predictable and easy. You do good damage by doing your pve rotation which passively cleaves everything, and just sit using 1-2 stuns / prison to setup mana burns all game. The defensives practically use themselves lol.

Pretty sure a good DH could win a game with just leech damage, high ilvl, and letting their healer heal them a bit. Would be an interesting challenge to get Glad on DH without using a single blur / darkness.

Can confirm what some others are saying in here. I’ve never played a caster in my life esp. not a lock, used my 120 boost on this lock here because I wanted to join the hype train since it seems like EVERYONE has a warlock alt.

It’s fun, big bolts are cool, but definitely hard to get them off against melee mongo comps when you’re undergeared at the 1600-1700 bracket. You pretty much just flop. You can rarely get bolts off due to the full mongo using every cooldown and psuedo cc. You do have tons of tools with double coil, shadowfury, fear peels, and the enemies focusing all their kicks on you.

Lock extremely powerful for those who have played them for more than a few weeks casually. But very irritating if you’re trying to learn it. Might just use this lock as a World PvP guy, some of my friends like to do that so I’ll have the lock tag along with them.

I think this is why a lot of higher ranked desto lock comps are ones that either include high dps that can solo a healer (like arms warrior) or other casters that shouldn’t be left unchecked (like fire mage or shadow priest). Still sucks getting tunneled the whole game however.

Honestly, that’s pretty much it nowadays. I love playing DH in PvE, but I hate Mana Rift so much that I just detest doing arenas and miss when RBGs were a thing. Now you only find like 2 teams doing RBGs at a time if you are very lucky.

I definitely wish we had more buttons to press.
