I have thought long and hard about this. It has seemed that for some reason, I just can’t get back into the game. Like retail WoW and Classic WoW are both not doing too hot. I played Classic from launch until March because I needed some time to actually focus on IRL some more. The fact of the matter is Classic WoW is a rerun of the good old days of the game and then Retail is a never ending cycle of anticipation and let downs. It would probably make a lot more sense if at the end of Shadowlands, you make something big happen where all of Azeroth is destroyed and everything that anyone has worked towards is just wiped away from existence to bring a new version of WoW. Reset this mess and take us back to the roots of this game which once was very fun! Shadowlands already seems to be an apocalyptic new expansion so if you run the course of this expansion leading up to and ending of Azeroth, it would make sense. Do us this one favor and just make WoW 2 a thing. We need a Classic WoW version of this game to be the base game and not all complicated and messy. Make expansions off a new era in WoW and take us on the same journey that Vanilla-WOTLK did. It’s such a small ask and I know i’m not the only person here who wants this really bad. Please Blizzard.
Well blizzard said when we come back from Shadowlands, Azeroth would be a lot different than the one we left. So for all we know what you said might very well happen.

They have been making better, or haven’t you noticed everything that classic doesn’t have.
If I wanted to lose all my character and account progress, I’d just play a different game.
And if Blizzard goes that route, that’s exactly what I’ll do. WoW is just not good enough to survive a complete reboot.

I feel like a huge part of what keep people playing this game is they have invested literally years of their life collecting things in a video game. So if you just delete that and make a wow 2 which look at the quick run down of what blizavision has released lately you know that’s just a disaster waiting to happen. So I believe deleting all the things people have collected would just make people realized this game is a waste of time and quit for good.

Forget every expansion, isn’t every raid tier pretty much a new reset? As someone who pretty much pugs raids exclusively, only advantage you have having played the previous tier is the ability to skip lfr & go straight to normal.
If you want blizz to wipe everyone’s gold, mounts, pets & achievements… even if it does happen, the aggressive/hardcore/tryhard/good players will soon have more gold, mounts, pets & achievements than most.
I doubt Blizzard will delete our progress and niknacks. I think what they’re saying is they are going to pull another Cataclysm.
My genuine suggestion OP, please don’t bother so much about others. Play the game you want. Find one mount u really like & go after it. Total number owned is meaningless. Decide how much gold you want to have & work towards that much. Gear & player skill cannot be reset. It’s a constant variable & better players than me will be better & more geared than me in any game within a week.
And play a new toon if u want a fresh perspective. It works for me. My warrior has all reps in pandaria & wod. My dk in legion. My lock in bfa. Probably my hunter will go to SL. Adds to the distinct memory of each expansion. Makes old world farming a lot easier too if u can switch toons for each continent instead of flying one toon everywhere.
Big reboot but I get to keep all my mogs, mounts and money? Yeah okay, go wild. I don’t care anymore.
New game? Nope. May as well play a new game and I’m gonna tell you, in all honesty, WoW isn’t a good enough game to compete with that if I lost all my stuff in it.

If by stay the same you mean I don’t want to lose all my mounts, transmogs, gold, and achievements then hell yes I want things to stay the same.

I tried vanilla, i hated it.
There is some elements vanilla have that i really respect, but sorry… many things that makes the game incredible for many people in vanilla or bc, for me and to others its just makes it unplayable.
Im not saying bfa is good, i hate bfa even more than wod.
Legion was my favorite one, and shadowlands will compete for that spot because what people is complaining about covenant choice doesnt affect me, so thats a good plus to me.
