Where is our immersion? Our important choices? It just feels like a bunch of chores over and over again, like we have don’t have any freedom. What if we want don’t want to feel like the one and only savior of Azeroth and the Shadowlands? Nope, to bad, go along with it. What if you don’t want to befriend the other faction? That isn’t an option.
The game is being designed for people who stay up all night doing mythic+ raids and dungeons, and Blizzard is completely forgetting the other half of the community who wants this to feel like a world we can actually get into and be a part of.
If you support this, give my post a like and post your thoughts! With any luck, we will be heard!
Come to think of it, no. I shall edit the title to say, make WoW an RPG.
I for one consider the long hours of chores for no reason other than to get gear boring. I’m not asking for retail to become Classic, but for it to become an RPG. I love the WoW universe and the lore, and would like to have more immersive gameplay.
Yeah, okay. But you get the idea, right? I’m sure there are many players who would like the story to feel more immersive.
Half? I think you’re greatly overestimating how many players are interested in rp.
Though wow’s never not been a rpg. Not being able to ignore the story and game lore doesn’t mean it stops being a rpg. The devs are the games GMs, we’re the players. Our characters are playing in their world.
They tried creating important choices with SL, people cried.
What? Yes, the raiders & M+ asked for the covenants to be as inconvenient as possible.
Makes sense. /s
The 2 week time gate in between switching Covenant (Talent) abilities, isn’t immersion enough for you?
Blizzard could’ve done the smart thing and listened to their Beta / Alpha testers. But no, got be stubborn about the system and keep to the smoke we blew up our players a**es.
I’m sorry, if any my reply sounds sarcastic or a tad rude. It’s not towards you directly, primarily towards the Covenant system and how stupidly designed it is. Tying player power to a cosmetic choice for an MMO was never a good idea.
I just had an idea. Through your choices each class could become a different class. Hunters could become Druids. Rogues could become Warriors. Warriors could become Paladins. Warlocks could become Demon Hunters. etc.
I never did . Heck when the ripcord thread was highly active I was one of the most active pro ripcord people there was and still am and I’m a LfR hero .
I do miss the days when the world and its quarrels were a bit smaller, and do pine for more, for lack of a better word, immersive elements.
Elements not unlike the moments during the defense of Icecrown where the winds would rise and the cold be such as to harm those not bolstered by a roaring bonfire’s warmth. A trifling thing, not even a real danger, but nevertheless a thing by me appreciated.
The problem is the current devs don’t have the same vision as the original ones. Just seeing where Metzen has gone shows me he was the main one making this game as much of an RPG as he did and making the good parts of the story.
Todays devs see WoW as a fantasy version of something like CoD instead of a video game version of AD&D.
I was watching a video where they were talking about what EQ was Able to do with less than 20 devs and compared it to WoWs 300 (they had a video of Ion stating WoW had 300 devs).
IMHO WoW was better when it was smaller more of a niche game and not the FOTM with every patch for people who bounce between games…
