Since WoW will officially be coming to console, and we’re starting to get away from some of the old and bring in the new, I believe it is now time to make WoW a TRUE action based combat game. It is time to do away with the old traditional tab targeting and move to true action combat with manual aiming.
You’re a console!
Oh stop it, don’t flatter me ![]()
that sounds bad! I hope they don’t!
Or players could find an “action combat” game to play, so that those of use playing WOW in some part because it’s NOT “action combat” get to keep the game we like.
Or let’s instead make a new 3rd person action adventure type game set in the warcraft universe.
Ranged players (myself included) really won’t appreciate the fact that each of our abilities could potentially outright miss the target.
I can imagine a healer casting their most powerful heal only to miss the charging Prot Warrior.
When tanks get low, they’ll be incentivised to literally stand still to make sure the healer doesn’t miss their heals.
In high movement encounters, both dps and hps will tank.
Heck even the tank could miss their taunt if they’re not paying attention.
It will change how we approach combat altogether.
Just imagine the chaos.
Isn’t Action targeting a setting already? Pretty sure im using this for years.

Its as much coming to console as much as MS Word is. The new xbox is basically a PC with full access to Windows OS so anything compatible with Windows can be run on it.
Would require a rewrite of the entire game.
When will the fear mongering end
I’ve been hoping for this for a long time
Because that worked out so well for Starcraft. ![]()
There was a starcraft action game?
It is not officially coming to console as a native title, there will be just a Windows Support Feature that will allow players to play the game on a console.
They spent years trying to make an FPS called Ghost. Never went anywhere.
There isn’t going to be a WoW release on Xbox.
Some of you really need to read articles rather than just look at headlines.
There is zero initiative from Blizzard, at all, to release a port for WoW to the Xbox. What the upcoming Xbox console will do is allow you to access Windows, and through that, install any PC game that is playable on Windows, which, yes, includes World of Warcraft.
This is something you can already do on the Steam Deck and the ROG Ally X, which are two handheld consoles that, if you quit out of the native software installed on them, will also allow you to install PC games, including World of Warcraft.
So the only way you’re getting WoW on any consoles is if they also allow you to access an operating system that can install PC games onto said console. But let’s be crystal clear on what you’re getting. You’re not getting a console port of WoW. You’re getting the ability to play PC games on your console, which includes WoW since it’s a PC game.
They know. They are just trolling.
I’d like to thank Wowhead for this crap.
Yep, this is pretty much the fault of whoever wrote that wowhead article and the way the title was deliberately written as clickbait.
When I log into wow, I want to be presented with a series of small candies and if I click them, they explode and give me points. Why are we making new raids when we could do this instead Blizz??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
God, I hate the forums.
