Make Warlock Fun Again

Snapshotting. Just bring it back. Snapshotting DoTs was fun, unique, and with how much easier rotations have become, would be a great way for raiders (Even though I don’t raid anymore) to separate themselves in terms of skill-cap and not just “who has a higher ilvl”.

That is all.

Fun is subjective.

Sounds like you got beat by someone who you think is bad because their ilvl is higher

If you read my comment you would see that I don’t raid anymore. Stopped in WoD due to IRL responsibilities. But if you need to troll to feel better about yourself, by all means.

My point is that for folks who do raid, it is a simple mechanic to re-introduce where raiders can separate themselves via game play, not just gear luck.

Snapshotting was an awful mechanic. Don’t bring that back.

Is snapshotting aff’s meta?

Yes. It definitely put Aff up on a pedestal. Doing it well was usually more of using weakauras to track too.

Very balanced mechanic.

Look, don’t get me wrong, skill should play a factor in how much damage you deal (and it does play that as warcraftlogs show how much a gap between a 50 vs 90 is).

But as the video show, Snapshot rly messed up any semblance of balance, specially if you think of game balance between similar skilled players.

If they had decided to keep the mechanic and balanced the spec around snapshotting, affliction would be unplayable for a good part of the playerbase, and only on par with other top performers at the highest of skill floors. (Either that or make the spec completely broken when snapshotted properly).

So, the decision of removing the problematic mechanic was safer and wiser.

Warlocks stopped being fun when MoP was over. Soul Swap gone, and snapshotting gone. Yep warlocks are ok. But they are not even close to the fun they were back in MoP, and I doubt they ever will be again. Blizzard is stuck on this plain and boring style that warlocks are now.

Edit. Yeah warlocks were OP. But Blizz could have easily kept those abilities and just tuned them well enough so that they were NOT tooooo OP.

Fair arguments. It does make balancing the spec harder. I guess I would settle for Soul Swap back as a baseline spell. Would certainly help Aff in dungeons and world questing.
