Make undead actually undead

I can’t fear an undead long enough to do much anyway, so why not make them actually undead. It would be hilarious to see priests and paladins having a field day with their spells. Anyways, just a funny tread. Would be cool to see it just the same.

I would greatly be in favor of this

That’s actually how it was in the beta. Like, the original beta, at one point.

I loved shackling lichborne DKs in Wrath. I think it would be funny, but nah, dont do that.

It makes sense, but please no lol

i agree

shackle undead is my favorite spell

role play over gameplay when it comes to my book

I don’t understand (sincerely.)

You peeked my interest.

Can you tell me about it? I hear a lot of stuff in the beta was weird.

Never made it to the actual game, or was removed pretty early along. It was just what you think it was. Undead had all the undead trappings. Immune to charm/fear/sleep permanently. They could also be exorcised/shackled. People here whine enough about orc’s 25% stun resist, so you can only imagine what people said about undead having permanent immunities.

The first time you try to excorcise a UD player and nothing happens…Sad day for every paladin

Well, if the followed a strict D&D type ruleset, they would be dead meat to
all healers, holy pallys, holy priest and resto druids would wade through them indiscriminately nuking them into oblivion.
Immunity to charm/fear/sleep would be somewhat useless

Would have made Wrath a very weird expansion LOL

Also be the first toons to die of friendly fire, every time their team mates
went to heal them.
You would i guess need warlocks to heal them with a lifetap or some kind of death magic?

I remember, in a lot of old turn based D&D games, running into some tough undead that nothing seemed to hurt, and rolling my cleric up and blast him to bits with a high level heal.

It use to be like this, but they changed it because apparently Alliance players were upset that they couldn’t CC them.

I’d say make them undead.

There is a downside to that.
There is a specific reason they are undead, and i think it is transmittable?

Scourge haven’t given me no funky monkey so I think we’re good if they make Forsaken Undead.

That is only because they can not currently.

Actually I thought they got rid of it because they were getting wrecked in PVP. Priests had shackle, but mostly it was the paladins with exorcism, fear undead, and holy wrath.

Don’t forget sense undead. That would help us know when to cast those other spells!

Sold.

Sap, sheep, sleep, charm, and horrify(?) immunity here I come. I will trade exorcism/shackle issues for all of that.

Turn undead is kind of a super fear. Paladins in AV can turn the abomination Luitenants away and it lasts through a lot more damage than expected. There are no holy resistances, so breaking out early is more rare. The downside is the cooldown.

I am not sure how it would turn out. My guess would be that the other classes would CC the orcs and the holy classes would CC the undead, resulting in more CC availability in group combat.

Edit: Another thing to note is that they might need to change shackle undead if such a change were to ever occur. If I recall correctly, it works like a super polymorph. I don’t remember it regenerating enemy health like polymorph does. According to WoWhead, it also uses it’s own unique CC category: Shackled. The only CC breaker that would work on it would be dispel magic.

I could gear them and use Exorcism. It was pretty great!
