Make Tortollan the Next Allied Race

Unlockable with being exalted with Tortollan faction. And give it to the Alliance. We had pandas race and that work out well.

They’d just make you play as a normal turtle for a few expansions doing Make Loh Go type content, until you evolved into a Tortollan.

Wouldn’t work. Tortollan don’t have any biological distinctions to separate their genders, other than voices.

Its unlikely Tortollans will be an allied race. Their models weren’t built to be playable like say the Vulpera or Sethrak were. The Tortollans clothing and packs are built right into their models so there is no way they could equip gear without a complete rebuild of their models.

As much as I love them, I don’t think the Sethrak were either.

From what I tested of their animations:

  • No stealth animation
  • Broken jump animation
  • No Levitate
  • No sheathe/unsheathe
  • Spell focus animation has the wrong anchor point
  • No dance, cheer, clap, roar, train, shrug,
  • No artifact salute animation
  • No ranged weapon animation.

I would love to test Vulpera, too, but I couldn’t find a single one to pickpocket.

Dear Sir and or Madam,

Im sorry to hear that the alliance can’t be civil to all of the inhabitants of Azeroth. The rumours of these “purge” squads have had a negative effect on any relations with you at this point. But just remember, nature can be cruel. :slight_smile:

Would they even be able to run? Or would you have to RP walk?

Tol dagor and freehold have hostile Vulpera

That could be a cool quirk. Instead of wearing the gear like normal, it just dangles out of their bags.

It would be fun, except people don’t really play “novelty ugly races.”

This is why “elves” are so successful, in any form.

Of course, they are making Kul’tiran…

Their animations aren’t at the same level as the Vulpera who I believe are nearly complete but their models are made to be player ready. They were built to easily accept gear and character customizations. When the race was built, they were basically built the same way player races are so that the devs could basically use the character creator to generate new Sethrak npcs quickly and easily the same way we generate our characters. As oposed to the Tortollans who have to each be built and modeled from the ground up individually.

Not trying to rain on the parade but…you’d see the other side cry rivers and rant as the turtle rep they have means nothing.

Now the out would be a rep check (as in like paper check) as it were. Turtle rep to some other faction when you cash that check. Then alliance would rant when some new crowd in 8.2 or 8.3 shows up.

Imagine if you will they torture us with a new argussian reach faction. Now imagine horde exalting them in 5 second or less with a rep check deposit. Horde might like that. Alliance may not if they never wanted the turtles in the first place.

Why would we want this? Every time we see them they’ll just be shouting “I made it to the water!”

I would be ok with it if we get rid of the Panda crap once and for all.

I really hated MoP, more than any expansion. Even BFA.
