Make TorGhast Progress Saveable

Like a raid lockout, sort of. I want to be able to go to bed and work, and come back the next day to the same level I left off on the day before. If it truly is infinite, which it is supposed to be, I want to be able to go for as long as I’m ABLE to go for, and if that surpasses the amount of time I have to play, and it makes me start over each time… That wouldn’t feel very good at all, would it?

Maybe it’s already like this, but i haven’t seen anything yet.

That’s like telling Blizzard to halt your horrific visions because you just want to… That’s not gonna happen

If you can’t make the time to do something, then don’t do it

Problem solved.

That ruins the purpose of a rogue lite.

The design intent of Torghast doesn’t seem to be pushing for an incredibly long time like they can on Alpha. Preach has mentioned that after level 30 things seem unfinished and that while they some players can certainly spend 4-5 hours in there on Alpha that that doesn’t seem to be the intention.

Pretty sure Ion (or some Dev) even stated that around 30-40 minutes is about what it should last. To that extent not something that needs saving, you just need to make sure when you sit down to go into Torghast you have the time available.

You know what Torghast needs? Timegating!

Vote thrall for president

You realise currently you need keys for Torghast, to get keys you have to go into The Maw, which is timegated as to how long you can stay down there, and there may even be a limit to the amount of keys you can hold.

Let’s hope they change all that before SL instead of after like they did visions.

Yeah and you probably have to complete Mawfinder Part 6 to even get keys

I don’t think they’d do it now but that’s actually an interesting idea. Maybe if Torghast is popular it might be something they consider for its descendants in future expansions.

That said though I do kind of like the idea of pushing yourself each time. E.g. last week I could only get to level 3 let me try for level 4 this week, etc.

Thats not a fair comparison though. Visions are meant to be finished. Torghast is meant to be eternal.

I feel like absolutely no one understood what I was trying to say. But that’s on me.

Not sure where you got that from. Certainly not from the actual testers that are currently running it.

I am pretty sure most people understand what you were saying, i.e. you want to stop in the middle of a run and save it to finish another time. If that is the case I say no to that because that isn’t the nature of the content.

However, I would personally like an option to do daily and or weekly quests that do have an ending in there because I don’t like the endless bit myself.

I mean you dont have 75 floors of visions. Torghast has many floors that should go infinitely i think

If you played Torghast for 2 hours and didn’t die or finish, and you had to go to bed, you would be okay with that?

When I say “I want to progress as high as I can” I’m not saying “I want Torghast to be balanced so that most of my runs will only last long enough for 1 play session” I’m saying “If I get to level 32 today and i can still keep going when I need to get off of the game, I want the the option to continue tomorrow when I log on again”

That’s not how it supposed to work.:microbe:

I agree if these take hours to complete you will need stopping points along the way.

I am already bored out of my mind with Visions because they take too long to complete.

Kind of defeats the whole “rogue like” idea

I want to start over again and feel the progression of what used to be difficult.
