It’s absurd an unacceptable that the only tier sets you can farm via warbands are the ones using tokens. It’s a arbitrary, nonsensical distinction. This leaves out Molten Core, BWL, Blackrock Foundry, Tomb of Sargeras, and more. Just take a day and flag these items as warbound instead of soulbound. There’s absolutely no good reason not to.
So there are still items linked to specific classes? That seems fair to me, considering how much more was opened up in terms of mog hunting.
Better than bad isn’t good. The warbound announcement came with the promise of appearances being account wide. And then a month later we get the tiny fine print “oh except the only appearances most people care about tier sets” There was a wave of justified angry feedback and then they decided to make tokens but not set pieces warbound. Until all tier sets can be collected account wide, they have failed to deliver what they announced.
Is it as big of an issue as TWW dungeon being a complete clusterf^$%? Of course not! But it’s something that could make the game much better and more fun with little effort. I wont apologize for advocating for it.
They don’t even universally apply this restriction. Tokens that turn into tier set pieces can be transferred. So why allow that but not the ones that drop as gear?
IF it is not a token it is going be. IT is bugged at the moment but there is blue saying it will be this way soon.
Class set tokens from legacy raids (Shadowlands and earlier) are now Warbound and can be transferred to characters on the account.
- Developer’s note: Based on community feedback and to match our overall philosophy on transmog collection, class set tokens from legacy raids (Shadowlands and earlier) are now Warbound, allowing them to be transferred to alts in order to collect the transmog of your choice. For clarity, current expansion tier set tokens will remain unchanged from their previous status of bind on pickup, as they represent a large amount of power for the character who collects them.
this statement doesn’t address individual set items at all, just tokens. I don’t think there’s any statement promising to do the same fix for non-token set items but there should be
Re-read the OP and then re-read what you shared. Tokens ARE Warbound, item sets, like the ones that drop from Molten Core for example are not TOKENS they are items and remain soulbound.
Not arbitrary. The interview said there’s a bunch of reasons, including technical, as to why it’s not like that.
My assumption is that the tokens were the quickest and easiest to make Warbound. Since they said they’re going to continue to expand things, my assumption is that they’ll eventually get to all of the tier pieces in every legacy raid to make them Warbound. Just gonna take some time.
As long as we keep giving them constructive feedback, they’ll keep listening.
Nah, we knew from the start that class sets weren’t going to be account wide. It was said in one of the Blizzcon interviews. That’s what sparked the push to get this stuff Warbound.
With the exception of pre-cata, you can collect the tier sets regardless. Sure the class specific ones cant be collected on anyone, but the look-a-like, which is identical can be. I.e if you wanted say the ToS paladin set. You can get every piece except the cloak on any class now as long as the look-a-like drops.
I get the point though and it is a more than valid criticism that should be addressed at some point.
Would be awesome honestly.
Yeah I tried Nighthold. Most of mine need a back piece to finish their set, and they are class locked. It’s so frustrating
What is the look-alike to the Radiant Lightbringer Greaves? I’ve been trying to get the raid finder version of those for age and I only have 1 pally.
The purple ToS lfr set? If that’s it, open your journal on any class that uses plate, check through the boss drops on LFR. I’m not at home so I can’t tell you the exact name. You’ll need to view each one in the dressing room to see which is correct.
I will edit this when i get home with the name of them though.
Edit: I stand corrected, look-a-like does not have Legs or Cloak. That is my bad, I thought it was only missing cloak but I was incorrect. This stands true for all the Difficulty sets of Radiant Lightbringer LFR/N/H/M.
The WoD and Legion raids dropping them as individual items is because those raids used PL when they were new by default. The vanilla raids are related to tokens being added as a feature in TBC.
