Make sure to put Summon Pocopoc on your Action Bars

A lot of people don’t seem to realize, but the summon button for Pocopoc actually changes if you have Pocopoc control an Automa, or when you upgrade his combat abilities.

When he controls an Automa, he’ll gain access to a skill unique to that Automa. Like Vombata is a VERY STRONG smash, Helicids give a damage + slow, etc. Vombata and Geoelemental are the only ones really worth using though. This will cost 1 energy until you upgrade his ability to control them more.

When you upgrade his combat prowess, and tell him to be offensive or defensive, the button changes again.

This will always cost 2 energy, but they are insanely powerful skills once upgraded to rank 2. His attack button will do massive AoE damage (and I believe a bleed as well), as well as silence everything around him. His heal will heal you for 50%, give you an absorb shield, AND stun everything around him for like 5 seconds.

These are the upgraded versions. The base version is just basic damage and heal, I believe. But I upgraded them to max the same day I unlocked the combat options so can’t be 100% sure which is the base version.

Either way - it’s a good idea to keep the button on your bars.

(As someone who puts extra buttons on a hidden action bar, I didn’t realize this for days. So hopefully someone finds this info helpful lol)

Meh, I never summon him.
I get he’s helpful, but ngl I’m tired of power coming from so many places other than our characters.

How about blizzard stop giving us nag buttons like this one that just have to be placed on very specific bars?

I never summon him either but it’s mostly just because I forget.

Is he? That stupid little ball does nothing but break me out of stealth and then sit there like a lump and make me fight the crap that he pulled. It’s like bodyguard companions all over again.

In the words of Sheldon Cooper to all of those who said Pococrap would be great and companions would be great in this game…

I never summon that tumor. If we could throw him in a bonfire, I would. If he could get destroyed by mobs, I would ditch him in the Sands. If he had feelings, I would break them.

‘Pets’ are for huntards.

Then Blizzard needs to give me another action bar, because between my class abilities, mounts, consumables, and everything else I need to cram on them, I’m already fighting for room.

Henceforth, it shall be known by a new name!

Take him to the scrapper in Boralus and chuck him in there. I want to hear his tiny screams.

I like Pocopoc. My character finds it amusing and useful for exploring the zone.

I had to download move anything to move the right action bars cause I ran out of room.

What’s really dumb is that his special ability button while he’s in a critter costs energy to press.

WTH?

The button automatically changes to the controlled automa’s ability for me.

The extra action button changes to his upgraded abilities even if you don’t put it on one of your action bars. But I prefer keeping him in defense mode for 20% damage reduction and an on demand emergency heal/shield.

I can only imagine that this little ball of trash is exactly like every other companion in the game: a pain in the butt for anyone that actively uses stealth as part of their class.

this is wrong. you dont “need to” set it to your hot bar/action bar. by what op is saying it sounds like you loose the action or need to set it to your bar to use it.

i have it as that massive floating icon in the middle bottom of my screen. the icon also changes for when he controls an Automa.

so theres no need to put it on your bar. its also its less clutter on my bar (caz my bars always a cluster f–k of actions, mounts, toys, etc that i need for day to day stuff)

I mean, you don’t need to use Pocopoc at all but her main point was that the button is still useful after you summon it. If you put the ability on your bars that “massive floating icon” goes away. If the bar you put it on is hidden, like she said she does with extra action bars, you won’t see it change.

Pocopoc is pretty useless tbh

It’s March 5 and he’s still not attacking mobs or “assisting”, he just stands there next to me doing nothing when I’m fighting random mobs

Maybe the ability for him to attack gets “unlocked” with the cypher research thingie? Maybe it’s some hidden dialog option I don’t know about?

I dunno what I’m doing wrong man, Zereth Mortis is so convoluted/unexplained you need to “constantly” be tabbing out to check the wowhead comments section for every little thing :expressionless:

I’m so sick of his combat AI bugging and he simply stops attacking.

So many times I dismiss him in the middle of a fight and resummon him so that he will start attacking again, instead of doing nothing. Either give him a pet bar so we can re-engage him or just fix the the AI.

It would break the game if his abilities didn’t cost energy to use
