What if I don’t have a cat

Get one.

Cats are sacred, divine agents of Bastet and will protect your soul… as long as you worship them… and they feel like it.

i would, but then i’d get an earful from her as she tries to squirm away. i… kinda smother her in hugs, smooches, and pettings to the point she knows she’s loved, but has an attitude about it.

seriously, she complains at me everytime i get up. ‘hey! gimmie treats! your getting up, that’s the whole point of you getting up, to give me food! hey!’ that sort of thing.

This is Lilith (yes from Diablo, the very same one), she’s fat and loves to be hugged…from afar, without hands.

Cats are entitled little brats, won’t ever get one just so it preceves me as it’s slave

Some are nice and cute though. Unfortunate minority

Of the eight cats I’ve personally been owned by in my lifetime, only one was that way. It’s hard to say whether it’s a genetic thing, or an upbringing thing. My daughter’s cats are twitchy, unfriendly little buggers. Same with my MIL’s cats. You can pet them on their terms, and there’s never any warning before they turn on you and bite or scratch.

That one of mine… well, unlike every other cat I’d ever had, that one’s cattitude almost broke me. He was never vicious like my daughter’s or MIL’s cats, just kind of a jerk and as you say, felt entitled to my constant attention. He’s part of the reason I don’t have cats now, though the bigger reasons are that I can’t deal with them ripping bits of my heart away when they die, and the last cat I had was the best cat ever and there will never be another like him, so why take a chance on getting another with jerk with cattitude?

Edit: Looking back, that jerk of a cat was the only pure-bred of the lot. I’ve often wondered if that had something to do with his temperament. I paid a LOT of good money for that little heathen… He was beautiful, but only on the outside. LOL
