Make Sub Rogue Great Again

Dear World of Warcraft Development Team,

We, the passionate Subtlety Rogue players of the Arena Forums, come to you with a fervent plea for the upcoming season. For too long, the Subtlety spec has been incrementally nerfed, chipped away at, until what remains is a shadow of its former glory in PvP. Where once we thrived on the battlefield, weaving through enemies with unmatched finesse and control, we now find ourselves outclassed and outgunned. The balance has shifted, and not in our favor. Subtlety Rogues have been sidelined, our toolkit diminished, our viability questioned. It’s time for a change. Buff Subtlety Rogues in PvP for the next season. Give us back the art of surprise, the thrill of the one-shot, the mastery of shadow. We need enhancements to our damage, our survivability, and our utility to reclaim our place in the arena meta.

To the WoW Arena Forums community, I call upon you to unite. We’ve seen class after class receive buffs, adjustments, and creative solutions to maintain their relevance. Yet, Subtlety Rogues have been left to languish. It’s not just about numbers; it’s about the experience of playing a class that feels rewarding and competitive. Other classes have been given the tools to adapt, to dominate, while we’ve been stripped of ours. Every patch, every season, we’ve watched as the balance scales tip further away from us. It’s time to rally, to voice our dissatisfaction, to show the developers that we’re not just a niche, we’re a vital part of the PvP ecosystem. Let’s make our voices heard, let’s flood the forums, let’s make every match a testament to why Subtlety Rogues deserve better.

We are the shadow dancers, the silent assassins, the unexpected threat that should keep opponents on their toes. But right now, we’re predictable, we’re countered, we’re outmatched. We need your support, developers, to reignite the fear and respect we once commanded. Buff our damage, enhance our control, ensure our survivability. Let’s see a season where Subtlety Rogues aren’t just viable, but a force to be reckoned with. To our fellow players on the forums, let’s not accept this fate. Let’s push for a change where we can once again say with pride that we play Subtlety Rogue in PvP. Together, we can make the next season one where stealth, strategy, and surprise are not just part of our lore, but our reality on the battlefield. Join me, let’s fight for balance, for justice, for Subtlety.

am good man. class has had arguably the most S tier seasons in the entire game, with at least 1 of their 3 options always being minimum A and usually S. High representation in tourney and high ladder play historically.

lolol the delusion. so many other classes and specs have actually experienced this for years, rogue is not one of them.

Dear Bathroom,

Respectfully, the historical success of the class might also reflect its versatility across different meta changes, indicating good game design rather than imbalance. Classes that perform well over long periods often have options that can be adjusted to suit various playstyles and game changes.

Furthermore, the terms “S tier” and “A tier” are subjective and often community-driven. While one might argue a class is too strong, another might value its complexity or the skill ceiling required to use it effectively.

Just because a class is frequently at the top doesn’t necessarily mean it’s overpowered. It could indicate well-balanced design where the class has clear strengths but also distinct weaknesses. Balance in games often aims for diversity rather than equal performance across all options.

sub isn’t bad your just bad at it.

Sir or madam, could you provide evidence for your claim?

*you’re

Not everyone is European

By 3s terms it has a niche, in shuffle it’s pretty bad. It lacks any kill pressure outside of shadow blades.

Highest arena team on the entire ladder is sub rmpal

Sub isn’t bad it just has a really high skill floor

Yeah that same player is also at the top of the ladder on fire mage. Fire mage isn’t good

It’s not bad either.

Just for the title I hope they don’t. Barf.

Well I’d say nothing is BAD but rather not great. It’s fair to say this speaks more to rogue/mage synergy when insane players are at the controls than it does either spec being “good”.

Nah. Holy priest, rsham , Aug evoker are all examples of bad specs.

Yeah fair point. However, is there really any other comp for fire/sub that isn’t troll? Where frost/arcane or outlaw/assa aren’t just infinitely better.

Sub can play sub boomy pres and do insanely good .

Fire can play fire feral hpal and do pretty good.

Yeah outlaw and frost are better but these comps are still very strong objectively.

First, Blizzard need to fix stealth break problem cause by Singular focus talent. It breaks stealth after you dot rupture on off target. Its also break CC if you have other rogue put deathstalker mark on their healer. Either make it choice node or remove it. Then Buff our Deepen shadow talent to 1s per combo point so we dont to wait 50s for Dance to come back every 1 min. We had CDR before so we always have Dance when vanish but now we have to wait 50s for 8s Dance. Thats why Sub damage is so low after burst. And that Backstab lol 45 energy for 50k dmg while my full bar only 100 energy with no tea build. This TWW is anti Rogue expansion especially Sub.
