SOM would be a great place to beta test some live in the field spec switching, especially on the horde side, tanks aren’t as common since we don’t have paladins, it would be nice if we could switch in the field and/or at the very least not have the gold penalties
I respectfully disagree,
Your spec was just as much apart of your identity on a server and you were known as a tank/heal/dps, adding the convenience of spec change on the go would take away from this I feel.
Also if wanna swap between tanking/dps’n just go Feral Druid/Fury Prot lol
is that why alliance cried in TBC to get both seals?
Who knows, thought this was a discussion on original classic not classic tbc
What’s that?
Sorry, can’t hear you over all the noise from HvH battlegrounds.
It should never be free but dual spec (NOT FREE) would have been nice for classic and crusade.
What a bunch of BS this is lol.
Respecs are a vestigial part of the game. Totally pointless, only makes the game worse and makes certain areas of the game participated in less.
If they were made free or like 5 gold, anyone against that would forget that they ever had a 50g cost in like a week. They serve no purpose today and only limit people who don’t farm tons of gold just to waste 100g to do some BGs and stand a chance against all the people with the best pvp specs. Just people rationalizing pointless friction that shouldn’t be there. No one has their spec tied to their character’s RP or identity. It’s just a pointless, time-wasting hurdle. No one who’s against this would actually be affected by this change either.
People who are known for tanking will still be known for tanking, or healing, but with cheaper respecs, they’d just be more willing to fill a group as dps or to respec for pvp. More than that, a dps with a healing or tanking offset would be more open to respec. I’m sure PVP participation would go up too, I respec’d to arms 1 single time in vanilla classic because the price to play that part of the game is just ridiculous. What’s 100g for a warrior, 2 hours of farming at least? To play pvp for like 1 hr?
What you are describing is just not real in practice, its just a vague feeling you have on the matter. This is just flowery language used to justify pointless friction in the game. The thought of respec costs would be on no one’s minds a couple days after it is reduced or removed, because it wouldn’t affect them (the people against it.) It’ll just make the game better for many, many others.
0.01% of players approach online competitive games like that. Maybe a 45 y/o dad who plays 2 hours a week.
Oh hi there,
I know I’m just repeating what’s been said a thousand times before, but this is how you end up with retail.
In before muh slippery slope fallacy.
Friction isn’t always a bad thing.
