Make SoD feel like Classic again!

Except for the no flying, not being in the outland, no arena, no Blood Elf, no Dreanai, no world buffs part. I’m sure there is more.

Did I mention no flying? :eyes:

Flying is horrible - but that’s not what made the gameplay bad.

Flying just harms world pvp - TBC pvp itself was bad even when it occurred.

People weren’t flying around in arenas, BGs, and dungeons.

We know Eyr, you’ll be here, and totally not playing SoD, because you’re not interested in playing SoD, you posting on every SoD thread is just irony.

SOD doesn’t sound bad, I’m excited to see how it is.

But your main point is correct, it isn’t Classic+.

Did you read the subject of this thread?

Edit: also Era players wouldn’t be posting on every SoD thread if y’all put them where they belong - in the retail forums.

Ever since original, when i was leveling my druid through ashenvale i wanted to defend it from the horde flith that had invaided my forest,

Soo i get to live that RP im happy

Yeah i was dissapointed at first but then i realized this is the best way to get classic plus servers so they know what we want and dont

Not to be facetious but have you considered WSG?

Yes i have, and capturing a flag didnt make me feel like i was saving ashevale, and it didnt make the conflict feel alive

The idea of a priestess of the moon actually coming into ashenvale to defend her land and a farseer coming to bolster their forces is what i really wanna see

Well SoD is hitting the target audience.

Glad both sides will become the Hero’s of Ashenvale. Without their hard work the other faction would have easily destroyed the towns and forever transformed the zone.

If you play a PVP server, your gonna get corpse camped. I promise.

You okay? From casually browsing the forums you seem to be having a really hard time, im seeing a lot of misplaced anger. Maybe go take a walk or something?

Number one, it wouldnt belong there because its literally vanilla with extra sprinkles on top.

Two, plenty of people play both retail and classic

Three, its really weird to constantly crap on people that play a different game, its cringe tbh.

Which is retail.

We just want to discuss the game which we have been doing long before SoD spam started in these forums.

I don’t mind want people play, but if people come to the era forums to tell us that vanilla + retail abilities is still vanilla - it is kinda strange to expect us to simply agree when there are dozens of threads against class changes from the last year.

Plenty of us dislike retail, tbc, wrath for nearly the exact things they are adding in SoD.

The hyperbole isnt helping your argument, in fact its making it weaker.

No, adding a few abilities does not magically change vanilla into current retail.

It isn’t really an argument as much as my subjective opinion. You are more than welcome to disagree.

I think tbc is retail as well, and not only because of outlands / flying, but mostly because of the abilities added.

Okay sure, then present it as an opinion, not as a fact. The onus is on the person presenting something to be clear about what they are presenting.

Also, classic will still exist. SoD does not remove servers, its simply a new mode. I dont think there was this much uproar about Hardcore servers.

Personally I’m excited for SoD, I really they wish the doubled down on the uniqueness that was originally meant for Classic.

Example, Ogres originally were meant for Horde in Vanilla (was switched out for trolls due to time constraints) and once again in Cataclysm (switched for goblins), imagine SoD completely filling out the missed content and races which would be truly unique to SoD, something no other version has.

While I’m ok Runes bringing future skills and talents into the mix, I feel like SoD is the time to go crazy, do what hasn’t been done!. Crazy class/race combos, they already making Mages heal, Warlock and Shamans Tank, they could push it further in my opinion.

(And yes I mention this as I’ve always wanted to be a Ogre Shaman :joy:)

But it’s clear SoD isn’t the Vanilla experience, nor is it Classic+ well how most people describe it, I feel like it’s the foundation for Blizzard to get a proper feel of what players deem acceptable or too far for a future classic+.

New PvP events, world buffs, skills/talents from Runes, classes feeling more complete, new lower level raids, heck even a mount at lvl 25.

But I personally feel SoD is going to be the testing ground for a true classic+ experience. SoD is the beta, a 4 season beta. But it’s exciting to see what they do with it.

SoD definitely isnt classic+, I agree. Its like classic+ took a bunch of acid and wandered out into the wilderness.

Im totally here for it though, I think it will be fun.

Hardcore servers follow the spirit of vanilla - they make the game a bit more difficult which is pretty fun. I was looking forward to them and enjoy playing it as well.

They don’t destroy class identity, they don’t trivialize content, they were really well implemented - blizzard did a really good job with them.

Very often I preface posts with things like ‘I think’, etc. I apologize if I misrepresented anywhere but I would also assume that a good chunk of the people on these forums somewhat have a loose understanding of my views considering I scream into this void pretty often.
