If priests can get a free shadowfiend then rogues can get a free shadowstep. Also, why the one minute cooldown on redirect?
Who said anything about a free Shadowfiend? It’s datamined as a rune.

Possible they just saw the spell Shadowfiend before the rune so they assumed it’d be a spell book.
It being a rune makes more sense but at the same time, I was hyped for the precedent it was setting by being made a skill book.
It definitely needed to be a rune sharing a strong healing slot (like PoM) otherwise there’d be no reason to bring any other healer than a Priest, ever.
Now even though a healing priest can use it, they still have to give up PoM

Okay I want a free shadowstep. I want shadow dance. I want no cooldown redirect that works in PvP. I want 5 million dollars and a steak medium rare.
This is where I draw the line, you’re asking for too much.

Redirect should have no cooldown 100%. Otherwise it’s pointless.

Redirect having a 1 minute CD makes it very niche. Not really understanding the implementation.

My main issue is why give us shadowstrike and then immediately invalidate it with shadow step?
They’re not in the same slot. You can use both if you want.
Shadowstrike into someone then Shadowstep immediately after a blink or something.
I’m all g with it being a rune, it’s a very good ability
Shadowstrike uses up an extremely competitive slot for rogues, which will only be even more competitive if mutilate is actually getting changed to 40 energy like the data mine suggests it might.
The only real reason to use it is in PvP to catch… If you have another tool to do that then the slot is now open for much better choices.
It’s basically only used for niche things, all of which will be replaced by step, so it will never see any use unless there is an even more desired rune in the step slot… But hard to see anything making you want to remove saber slash at higher levels.

we just know there is a book that teaches it.
its entirely possible that they remove the CD or make it much shorter than the cata variant (not copium i swear)
Boooo. Hell no. Shadowstrike or whatever it’s called is already op enough. Now you wanna have a free blink to target every 20 sec? Shadow step was one of the biggest mistake of TBC. The combination of that crap+cloak of shadows ruined bc pvp.
