There are numerous items, such as the Flying Carpet, that require specific professions to both learn the item and use it.
For instance, only a tailor can learn the Flying Carpet to add it to the mount collection. Even after it’s added to the mount collection, use of the Flying Carpet is still restricted only to tailors.
This doesn’t make sense anymore as alt usage becomes more and more encouraged. Please remove profession restrictions from the usage of account-wide items once they are learned.

I want this but I feel like they won’t do it. Then we wouldn’t have motivation to go farm the cheap knockoffs and that’s less time /played. As you know, time is money, friend!
Would be cool though. I’d actually use some of the profession mounts if they did this
Also makes Jeeves a toy already!

I don’t mind the profession restrictions. Engineers have the Bres and the Wormhole, which is great - but the main reason I like my engineers is the gyrocopter. And my Tailors have a flying carpet, and that makes sense.
I don’t want them to make professions even less important. I like that if you really want to master a flying carpet or a gyrocopter, you have to have that profession.
Sure it does. Your Alts can use the mount if they choose the profession. They don’t have to earn or make new ones.

So your solution is to relog every time I want to use a profession-restricted mount I’ve already learned on the account.

it is little things like this that make professions and characters matter - do we really want everything to be all the same?

The profession will still matter because I will still need to level a tailor if I want to learn a Flying Carpet. Restricting the usage of learned items on an account is the same line of thinking as covenants and it serves nothing other than to restrict player agency.

tell me how hard do you have to think of things to ask for?
I have all professions and have played over 10 years and I have never once thought, boy would I like to be able to use my flying carpet on my druid. I don’t even want to use it on my mage tbh.
I’m glad you don’t care about using your carpet on your druid. Maybe others care about being able to use their earned cosmetics on different toons. Let’s not mention that we’re not talking about class mounts, so I don’t know why you’re bringing classes into the discussion (although an argument could be made those should be usable on any toon either, but that’s outside of the scope of this thread).
Your line of thinking, again, aligns with how covenant restrictions were. Are you also saying that Night Faes shouldn’t be able to use Venthyr mounts?

I have over 500 mounts, my night fae doesn’t even use the night fae mount.
There is just so much choice in this game already, I really don’t understand the constant glass half empty thinking.

Yeah your armory says you have 513. Cool. I have 564 and I still believe in player agency/freedom.
What’s your point?

There is no logical reason the game shouldn’t be 100% account-wide at this point.

my point is I don’t understand why you are so unhappy when you already have so much to choose from
“Why can’t these people use the mounts that I like instead of wanting to use mounts they’ve already put effort and time into crafting and earning on their account”

no it isn’t that at all. I don’t care if blizzard does this, I am just afraid you will never be happy in the end anyway. You will just move on to keep on removing restrictions and by the time you are done no one will want to play the game because it will be total boring.
Tell me is there no flying carpet mount in the game that is universal already or are they all just tailor made?
There is, the nightfallen rep has a flying carpet that is universal. I will note you couldn’t answer this.

Perfect, then it’s pointless for you to try to dissuade.

Hi yes, newer player here with only like 30 something mounts (that actively use the fly carpet mounts too) I’d like to be able to use the mounts I put time and effort into making, without have to waste a profession slot I’m not going to use, because it doesn’t fit with the theme or design of the character I made.

Did you not know when you ‘wasted’ time making it, it was only restricted use? Pretty sure it tells you when you do.
No. This will kill professions further.

??? Professions died long ago the moment blizz introduced level restrictions on items you make. “Oh I’m sorry. This pot that you made usig WoD mats that does the exact same thing as the SL pot can’t be used above level 49 because…“reasons””
Making prof mounts account wide would do nothing to professions assuming you still needed that profession to learn it in the first place.

No. Id rather them not kill it any further.
