It is absolutely ridiculous the political fighting all day, every day. Let us report these people and hand out chat silences/suspensions for it. I spend more time tweaking my global ignore filters for every iteration of trump and biden that people come up with that I barely get to play. The negativity in the game is almost unbearable for many people and this just pushes it even further. It needs to go. If you want to talk politics there are plenty of places to do it. There are plenty of places to get political news. Get it out of WOW.

You know, I think I seen people talking about politics once in Classic. In retail…Jesus Christ, it was soooo bad.
I am also tired of it, people act like if we don’t talk about it freely in trade chat then communism wins or something?

On Atiesh that and ZG boosts are literally the ONLY thing in /4… When I edit the filter and get them caught for a day the channel is completely dead. Other topics the could be targeted are investing/crypto, anal whatever, and race/ethnic issues. Yes, some of those are very valid things in our lives but they really have no place in a video game and turn toxic really quick but NOTHING is as toxic as politics…

Yeah - LFG in a separate window was the best reminder I got - which I peek at in desperation and if guild or local chat fails to muster a group.
I doubt Blizzard can enforce any of it and the appeals…I mean imagine…BUT its interesting to see more pressure on the legal front turn to providers to sort this stuff out.

There is no reason to make political discussion actionable, just ignore and move on, or get thicker skin.

You certainly can… And people should not be having them in wow. There is a TOS that you agreed to which says Blizzard is in control of what is and is not allowed.
I have no problem with political talk in general and no one is changing my mind. It is the fighting and toxicity around it that I have a problem with. The community is in shambles as is and we certainly don’t need to keep fanning the flames.

right? And then they always give the idiotic response “this must be your first time in Barrens chat”. No I’m smart enough to realize that none of us are political experts,otherwise we wouldn’t be spendin 14 hours a day in Azeroth. I see political themed names getting banned, next step is the talk. There is zero point of it in a video game except to troll people, which at this point should fall into harassment. It’s not the people that have a problem with it that are the problem, it’s the people who think it’s ok to act however they want, and everyone who has a problem is weak that are the problem. And it’s not just talk, they will blow up chat for hours if anyone dares disagree. So now it’s spam and harassment. Y’all are not experts on politics, your opinion means no more than mine, so why force it on us every day all day. Your daddy lost 7 months ago, let it go.

Why do you want blizzard to solve a problem for you that you can solve for yourself. Is it just way to much an imposition to right-click ignore.

I want it ALL silenced… Ignore list isn’t even close to long enough on a server of 8k people. Again, I don’t care about the actual discussion or feelings each individual has. It is the attack mode, toxicity, and blatant disrespect for people just wanting to play the game that has me down. Go to a political forum and fight all you want, wow is not that place.

The ignore list is tiny compared to the size of the servers and are only per character. That is not a viable solution.
