This whole thread reeks of the age-old WoW elitism.

You can literally buy Draenor pathfinder with medallions. I don’t know how it is on your server but it’s fairly affordable to do so on a big realm.

Eh. I have pathfinder for BFA and Legion. I don’t have it for WoD, and that’s okay. If I ever end up in that zone, I just suck it up and deal with it.
No. The solution is to stop timegating and staggering the Pathfinders, and have current pathfinders unlock old pathfinders.
(Removing Mechagon from the game would be nice too)

Where were you when they removed the flying licenses for WotLK, Cata, and MoP? There’s already a precedence for allowing flight in older areas without having to jump through additional hoops.

Not for gold.
Make them auto complete when you get current Pathfinder.
New/returning players having to grind 3+ Pathfinders is just silly.

and it takes 2 weeks to get to 120 compared to 2 months to get to 60 in Classic … the game has changed . Really silly to say that only one thing should stay the same .
Other than fast flying the gold cost for flight licenses have been absolutely trivial. The gold earned from leveling was sufficient to buy the flight license for any particular expansion. Getting the gold to buy flying back in the day wasn’t as big a deal as you’re making it out to be.

Yes, and so has the amount of people playing. Blizz has made a lot of great changes over the years, but just because something is new, that definitely doesn’t make it a good idea.
Some of the most grindy points in WoW were the most popular. Not saying everything was great, but players having more choice definitely helped

Maybe unlock flight for past areas, but not the actual achievements. Ie, if you want the WoD pathfinder achievement and mount you actually have to play the content. But it would be easier to obtain if you have flying there based on unlocking whatever pathfinder is current.
I think i’m getting ever more sympathetic with every hour spent ruining from point A to Z and back in Classic.

While this doesn’t affect me, I agree with this suggestion. Have made it myself in the past. Purchasing flight with gold would help returning and new players.
Medallion of the Legion is 10k on my server. TSM reports a regional average of 6k, which is significantly lower, but we’re not talking easily farmed amounts of money either way.

Its 20(ish) tokens to get the rep you need.
You get a mount with it so it should probably be 100k.
And? There are flying mounts that can be purchased for much smaller amounts of gold, some as little as 50g.
