I agree. They need to stop the FOMO content and bring it back as repeatable or always there or known that it will show up during some season.
Not every player plays at the same time or in some case, was even alive.
I only got some of the mage tower as the challenge is what brought me back. But now, with so much content and so much transmog, kinda would like them to reopen the challenges back up.
At first I read the title from the perspective of āI want to see more FOMO content in the gameā, then I read the body of the opening post.
Limited-time things are dumb (unless theyāre seasonally limited, like holiday-related stuff that you can revisit once a year).
Or they can actually add good NEW content so people stop trying to dredge up good things from the past

If I could have one thing from blizz it would be The Black Prince story line and loot in MOP. I never got to do it, and I played every day for those two years until I broke my hand and couldnāt play.
Maybe not the exact rewards, but recolors would be cool like they did with the old mage tower. I do understand why theyāre not just readding things they made clear were " get it or lose it."
I wouldnāt complain, but at this point theyāve made their stance clear. So Iād be happy being able to earn new cool weapons, or recolors of the class sets. Grinding the mage tower for the book was actually very fun last expansion. Iād love more challenges like that.
Same, when I was playing Legion I was in a WFH role and able to GRIND. I collected every spec of every class of the mage tower just because a) it was only like 4 scenarios to actually learn and b) there were already a couple things in the game that had been removed and fomo hit me hard for these.
I would love to see them come back, Iām always being asked how I got my warlock scythe (affliction MT) or my druid cat form and I know it sucks to hear āyeahā¦ you canāt get this anymore, sorry.ā
BUT fomo is how they fuel their numbers. They pulled it big time with the original bruto mount, I expect some kind of MT and recolors if/when they do a Legion remix.

the only thing that should be time limited are items in the shop. I bought those expansions with the same green currency I bought the current one with, individually over the years. Why do they strip the value out of expansions, we paid for, just because a new one came out?

I agree. If something was a feat of strength and difficult, just make it difficult in the current iteration so that it doesnāt cheapen the reward. At this point a lot of the original stuff is primarily held by people who are getting older, and donāt play anymore because of kids etc
In other words, Me not playing during mop/WoD because I had a life shouldnāt be an excuse to delete content from the game and bar me from being able to earn it.

I didnāt play at all until late into BfA. It is really sad that I will never have a chance at the best cat forms in the game. But otherwise how would I be able to tell if someone has played longer than me?
I would agree with it if they reintroduce the challenge. Much like how mythic tens would make a stand in for CM. Mage tower is a silly example to me it should have reintroduced the weapons.
Pvpā¦ that one is awkward. I adore some pvp sets coloration. I also get you canāt really replicate how a specific class played during said seasonā¦
I THINK you could make an argument that up to old weapon illusions could be earned in current season but there isnāt a way to replicate 2400 level.
Honestly I pandered the thought of this for a bit and the only ethical way I could see them adding the ability to get old illusions is getting duelist unlocks 1 token that you can use to buy 1 specific illusion at the elite vendor. Other than that I donāt mind them bringing back elite sets if it utilized the same system. (2k = elite set unlock token / 2100 = 1 illusion unlock token)
Also came to this conclusion since it seems the new going change will be that elite illusions are earnable at 1950 so it will continue that proverbial carrot on a stick to keep people climbing
