I believe it would be in the best interests of the game if people who enjoy raiding did not feel compelled to do mythic plus in order to get gear faster to push mythic raiding sooner.
And on that same note, i believe that the game would also benefit if all of the loot in raid (specifically “very rare drops” such as trinkets, rings, etc.) were scaled down in mythic plus, so that people who only want to do mythic plus do not feel compelled to raid in order to be competitive in mythic plus.
Well, you might ask: what if someone wants to raid AND engage with mythic plus? well, that would be perfect from them because they can obtain gear from the raid to use in the raid and they can obtain gear from mythic plus to use in mythic plus.
also, i think an honorable mention needs to go out to the two “Very Rare” rings from Vault of the Incarnates
Seal of Diurna’s Chosen - chance on dealing fire dmg to dmg your target for more fire damage - actually very useful in PVP because it can be obtained at the same ilvl that pvp gear scales up to AND it has versatility on it.
Seal of Filial Duty - chance on dealing fire dmg to receive a rather SUBSTANTIAL absorb shield… like come on, that is way OP for PVP - literally every pvp’er that can deal fire dmg is using that ring.
Having a ring that basically functions as a defensive trinket AND is 7 ilvl above all the max ilvl pvp rings is too powerful for PVP to be ignored.
How do you think all the pvp’ers are feeling this season when they have to do the raid to get four bullions to get those rings AND then do mythic raids or mythic plus to upgrade them fully?
EDIT
there have been a few people, not many, just a few who have stated they don’t want to have to farm different sets of gear for their content and that this stuff only matters for players pushing high-end content.
I love the pvp style gearing, I think that’s an awesome solution that they should apply to delves too. I don’t mind about raiding and m+ because I don’t do that anymore. But the delves will be dead on arrival if the rewards don’t actually help in delves. Make unlimited drops from delves and scale up delve gear 39 ilvl in delves only. Then raiders don’t complain about needing to do delves and people who are excited about them (me) can enjoy delves thinking they are getting best prepared for that mode in that mode.
loot you get in mythic plus scales up 26 ilvl in mythic plus only.
loot you get in raids scale up 26 ilvl in raids only
loot you get in delves scale up 26 ilvl in delves only
pvp conquest gear scales up 26 ilvl in pvp combat only
i think that would be a perfect system and then the game would feel much better to play because no one would feel compelled to raid if they didnt want to.
queue everyone coming in and saying “well we can’t do that because it would lower raiding participation.”
well yeah, theres a very good reason for that - if blizzard wants people to raid more then make raiding more fun and enjoyable, dont bribe people with player power advantages for taking part in an activity they don’t enjoy.
here is how i would love delves to be implemented:
Competitive solo content - the levels of delves would be unending like mythic plus, you get gear from them to aid your progression and you receive a score for each level of delve you complete.
then people who are in the top % (idk like 0.1% or 0.5%) delve score for their class will receive a title like the mythic plus titles along the lines of “the Draconic Delver” or something.
really? you think its fine that a pvp’er in season four is in a distinct disadvantage if they don’t do the raids to get bullions and then do more raiding to upgrade the two vault very rare rings?
and let’s even go further than that and say “do you think it’s fine for a mythic raider to be at a distinct advantage because they have access to the +7 ilvl ring with an absorb shield and extra stamina that pvper’s could never get in season one unless they bought a mythic diurna kill with gold?”
MVQDH literally one of the world’s best known havoc DH’s in the pvp community, obviously rank one of solo shuffle ladder currently - uses seal of diurna’s chosen (eranog ring) AND seal of filial duty (diurna ring) - 2972 rated
i can go on and on if you like, but i feel that this list is sufficient for your desires, yes?
just to add another
here’s the 3v3 ranked ladder currently -
guess who the literal highest rated player in the NA region currently is?
well you told me to show you one class that uses the rings above 2200 rating and i showed you multiple people that are at the top of their respective solo shuffle ladders for their specs that all use the ring.
and people wonder why wow doesn’t get many new players - and especially why pvp finds it rougher than other pillars to attract new players.
here’s the answer - blizzard burns them out by forcing them to do content they don’t enjoy in order to have fun with the game.
i have a lot more fun with mythic plus than raiding and really wish i didn’t have to raid for the BiS gear.
and I know TONS of people who don’t want to engage with pvp this season because they simply don’t want to deal with raiding to get the vault rings - maybe it’s easier now than season one but it’s basically the principle of it all - the best pvp gear should never come from pve content.
Fun story: i was running some mythic +2s with my friend to help him get his new toon geared a few weeks ago and i just literally invite the first people who sign up for the key because i can carry… queue a feral druid signing up who was telling us all about how awful he thinks mythic plus is, how hard it is for him to make groups and get people to sign up when he has terrible pve gear and no mythic plus rating when all he wants to do is upgrade these rings so he can pvp. I genuinley felt bad for him, so my friend and i ran his key up to a +6 so he could start getting aspect crests.
i’m sure there are some people that just want to raid log and don’t want to spam mythic plus in order to get a specific trinket at myth ilvl to be competitive at parsing raid bosses. (I certainly don’t know any because those people would be very few and far between, though)
From what I’ve seen, I wouldn’t be surprised if Delves end up being Torghast 2.0… Just chock full of Cosmetics, Mounts, Achievements, and possibly a Timegated Progression currency…
