Class sets from Molten Core, BWL, Tomb of Sargeras, etc. should be warbound. Tokens were made warbound but sets without tokens were not.
Devs said. “Based on community feedback and to match our overall philosophy on transmog collection, class set tokens from legacy raids (Shadowlands and earlier) are now Warbound, allowing them to be transferred to alts in order to collect the transmog of your choice”
I guarantee you the feedback wasn’t limited to the tokens. How does it make any sense that tokens being warbound but the sets without tokens still being soulbound matches your philosophy?
Yes there are 99 bigger problems in the game, but this one is easy to fix.
Until then this is a broken promise on warband functionality.
EDIT: On August 9, a blue post stated they are working on this for “the next patch after the launch of The War Within”. Big win.
They said up front class specific armor wasnt part of it, but they want to include it. It’s just coming later. Until then, MC/BWL and Legion armors you have to get the non class specific items (legion has this for most slots) or farm with your class. Thats what Im doing with mine and it’s actually been fairly quick.
There are people that dont agree that class set pieces should be added to the account wardrobe unlock system.
Myself at the very forefront.
The ease of access across so many system is starting to become exponential. Many of the changes can be attributed to deep unrest for quality of life changes from years of dialogue.
Others may be based on a predisposition that of comments from people that “everyone thinks” or “nobody says that”.
The obscurity of how valueable many changes that happen are completely obsurd.
Lets say you have 2 characters on your account over 60. Most people I know of, including the ultra casual, have 2-5.
Why is it so bad to have to run one or two characters through a few dungeons / raids every week, mind you once per character. For 2-6 week to get everything you desire.
Why does every item have to be earned now. In 1-3 runs.
I personally collected all tier and items over 2-6 years for every raid and dungeon in the game. Since the changes to account unlocks for tmog. Some people have 100% most raids in a day or two through 2 weeks of runs on alts from near 0% to start.
This implies multiple things.
Does the game not require any systems to earn what you want anymore?
Where is the challenge?
Why the hell does everyone use phrasing like “we need”, “Blizzard doesnt listen”.
As far as I am concerned the lack of additions to class gear should stay permanently earned per class, individually.
This is adorably wrong. Some people run these raids for years and don’t get everything.
The challenge is doing content while it’s current. Legacy content shouldn’t be a challenge. It’s just collecting stuff. And being able to collect everything except class tiers, thus requiring running a raid repeatedly where you don’t need to unlock anything except one pair of bracers for one class, is idiotic.
Listen if you want to run Tomb of Sargeras 1300 times instead of 100 times no one is stopping you. But its MORE FUN to be able to collect more stuff each run.
Don’t make warbound mogs into some weird rant about the lack of challenge in wow. There’s no challenge in any number of mog runs.
To give you context.
I compete on a world stage for the acquisition and completion of all things in the game. Including transmog.
Currently I am ranked 5th world (last I checked).
In my position. Dozens+ of my competiton have 100% almost all raids they were lacking after years of placement being lower. In 2 weeks. Its absurd.
Now that you know, remember there are more vantage points than your own.
that is a bonkers hill to die on imo… how are they going to make tier tokens and literally everything else collectable on a single character and then make an arbitrary rule for 2 expansions’ sets… Just cause you earned those sets through the correct way shouldnt mean there should be a rule inside the massive qol buff that people have been wanting since tmog was released.
From a blue post today: "Following the introduction of Warbands, we’ve seen a lot of discussion and received a lot of feedback from Transmog collectors. We want everyone to know that we’re currently working on some improvements to appearance collecting that are planned for the next patch after the release of The War Within.
First is an update to class-restricted gear. We’re working to make it so that non-cosmetic class-restricted gear can have its appearance collected by any class. Appearance collection will be retroactive to any gear in your inventory or bank. The intent is to make it much easier to collect class sets from legacy raids where that gear drops directly.
…
Again, our intent is to implement the above with the next patch after the launch of The War Within."
I can only assume it was this thread that convinced them. Definitely.
I have been running Blackrock foundry for years and STILL don’t have the plate boots and only just got the black hand.
Soooo…no. Your absolutely wrong. Hell invincible wouldn’t even be rare if you got it in 2-6 weeks.
I really hope our other community council members do not share your awful take.
And I was the 14th best DK on my server in 2011. Times change. Titles don’t last for ever. Quality of life for the entire playerbase is more important than the 5 top collectors staying special.
